Coloressence High Definition Powder Review

Hello Ladies!

My review today will be about Coloressence High Definition Powder. I am not really a compact/powder person. I feel really lazy to set my face with some kind of a powder after applying my foundation. I always skip that part, but HD powders have always somehow managed to appeal to me. I didn’t want to spend too much on something that I wouldn’t be using often and hence never wanted to invest in Make Up Forever’s HD Powder. I recently discovered that Coloressence has the same product at a much affordable price, so I bought it.

Price:

350/- INR.

My Take on Coloressence High Definition Powder:

The SA told me this is the only shade available and it would suit any skin tone. My mom wore it and it looked good on her too. The powder is very fine and tends to fly off when it is opened and I hate that.

The packaging is like most L’Oreal blushes and mineral powders. It has that very cute brush which does a fair job in applying the powder evenly on the face. It works the best when applied in circular motion. One might end up taking too much of powder on the brush, very little is sufficient. If extra amount of the powder is applied, then the face starts to look chalky and white and I totally don’t understand that part of it.

I don’t use the brush that comes with the product because I feel it rips off the concealer from my face. I use concealer for my scars and when I brush this at the end, I see the shadow of my scars yet again. Maybe the brush is a little too harsh and I hence started using the powder with another brush that I own.

The powder sets your skin to look matte and also does control oil for about 2-3 hours. It does not give any coverage of course, but it mainly does the job of setting the makeup and giving that perfect matte finish in the end. I don’t think the quality of the product would be as good as the other HD powders available, but this does a fair job keeping in mind its price.

Somehow the powder is a mess, the brush tends to catch more amount of the powder than necessary and the powder easily flies on when the lid is opened.

Pros of Coloressence High Definition Powder:

  • Gives the skin a perfect matte finish.
  • Controls oil to an extent.
  • Very affordable price for an HD powder.
  • Does a fair job for its low price.
  • Suits all skin tones.
  • The brush does a decent job to spread the powder.

Cons of Coloressence High Definition Powder:

  • The powder is a mess. I lose some amount of the product every time I open the lid.
  • A lot of powder makes the face look chalky.
  • The brush picks more amount of the product than required.

IMBB Rating:

3.8/5

Final Say:

If you are looking to buy a HD powder, but you are not comfortable with the price range in the other brands, then you can totally give it a try. It is not really a long-wear powder, but it definitely does a fair job considering its price.
