Hey gorgeous gals,
Switching gears from bath and body products – back to makeup now! This product is a recent purchase from Elizabeth Arden. If I am not mistaken – this also happens to be my first-ever purchase from the brand. So, let us find out more about Elizabeth Arden Sheer Kiss Lip Oil in Rejuvenating Red.
This addictive, lightweight lip color is packed with five precious oils to deliver hydration, antioxidants, and anti-aging effects for soft supple plumped up lips. The perfect pop of luscious color that’s both fashionable and functional is here. Each tinted lip oil pairs the hydrating benefits of an oil with the pigment of a gloss, bridging the gap between color and care, to rejuvenate lips with a non-greasy feel. A glossy texture helps make lips look fuller. Use the lip oil alone or over lipstick for just the right amount of shine and give the illusion of plumper lips.

My Experience with Elizabeth Arden Sheer Kiss Lip Oil Rejuvenating Red 04:
I saw this product first time in a Lisa Eldridge video and I was just taken by how cute the packaging was. However, when I checked a couple of reviews, I decided to take a chill-pill – I don’t really use glosses so often, so, but then, I saw these lip oils at the duty free and just could not resist! Look at the packaging! Can you resist this packaging??
Packaging: The product comes packaged in a chic, transparent, acrylic, round bottle with a black cap. The transparent acrylic has a soft rubber center, which allows you to squeeze it in order to dispense out the product. The rubber center is also transparent, this allows you to be able to see the shade inside. There is no applicator involved. It comes packaged in a hip black cardboard outer box.
Shade: The shade I picked is 04 – “Rejuvenating Red.” This is probably the deepest shade in the range. It is a light to medium (depending on the amount of product you use) bright red shade with a flattering translucency to it. It is a lip oil, so is a sheer product by design. However, the colours are distinct and pigmented enough – that you can tell the difference from one to another.
Texture: The formula of this is nice – though it is more like a gloss than a lip oil. When I compare it to another lip oil, I have the Clarins lip oil in mind (which is much thicker in texture). This lip oil by Clarins is smooth, non-sticky, and extremely light-weight. It is easy to spread with your fingertips. It is comfortable once on and does not feel tacky or heavy on the lips. The product does not seem to slide about on the lips. It does soften and condition the lips – even repair them to an extent. The first time I tried it, my lips were not in a good condition, thanks to a lip product I was testing the day before. If you see my lip swatch and FOTD – you will not see any sign of lip damage. My lips were better off by the end of the wear. Also, my lips seemed plumper while I had this one. However, having said that, the impact is transient. The impact is there only for the duration of wear, which kind of surprised me considering this was supposed to have shea butter, coconut oil, avocado oil, Tsabuki oil and mango seed butter. Put together, that should amount to some super moisturized and conditioned lips, at least for the next 24 hours; however, a closer look at the ingredient list reveals that the base consists of mineral oil and the other rich oils/butters fall way low in the ingredient list.
Pigmentation: Pigmentation is fairly good for a product termed as a “sheer lip oil. A single soft, dabbed application gives a nice tint to the lips. You can use a bit more product to get more colour on – as in the case of FOTD. It will not cover your lip pigmentation. Another key thing to remember is that the product does not settle into the fine lines neither does the pigment sink in. Which is s definite plus in my book.
Lasting Power: I was surprised that the product gave me good 5 hours plus of wear. It even lasted through meal, which was very strange. The intensity of the tint did dip down but it was still there. I was surprised because I really expected it to just disappear with the meal, which it didn’t.
Fragrance: There is a slight sweet fragrance but it isn’t discernible unless you put your nose to it.
Pros of Elizabeth Arden Sheer Kiss Lip Oil Rejuvenating Red 04:
- Easy-to-wear shade.
- Extremely lightweight texture.
- Buildable pigmentation.
- Very comfortable to wear, no feeling of dryness or clinginess.
- Hydrating formula.
- Easy to apply, just dab it on – you don’t need a mirror.
- It applies smoothly and evenly.
- No feathering or bleeding – despite the texture.
- Does not sink into the fine lines.
- Isn’t tacky or sticky.
- Classy and yet fun packaging.
- Decent wear time – 5 hours plus.
Cons of Elizabeth Arden Sheer Kiss Lip Oil Rejuvenating Red 04:
- Effect of the lip oil is only till the wear. The base oil is still mineral oil with the “5 precious oils” falling fairly low in the ingredient list.
4/5. I kind of like the product, from the packaging to the texture. It is super chic and easy to toss into the bag and equally easy to apply with the dab of your fingertips. Do remember, it is not a lip balm. It is basically a lip gloss enriched by certain precious oils to make it more worthwhile.
Would I Repurchase Elizabeth Arden Sheer Kiss Lip Oil Rejuvenating Red 04?
Yes; however, if the question is – do you NEED to have it? Not really. It is a sweet splurge item but not a must-have product.
