Faces Canada Opal Ultime Pro Metaliglow Review

Hi all,

I have been using this Faces Canada Opal Ultime Pro Metaliglow so rigorously to arrive at a verdict for the review. I bought this one to use as a highlight, spot highlight, but not for an overall “illuminating” effect. Read on for more details 🙂

Price:
INR 799 for 15 ml.
Product Description:
Faces Ultime Pro Metaliglow contains ultrafine light-reflecting pearls that melt into the skin to give you a polished, natural-looking radiance. It imparts instant luminosity and has excellent blending properties, besides being light-weight and long wearing. The high percentage of thin pearls deliver a homogeneous glow, while the aqua based formula cools your skin. Made up of a special mix of copolymers, Ultime Pro Metaliglow leaves a comfortable, shiny, transparent film for a youthful-looking complexion.

My Experience with Faces Canada Opal Ultime Pro Metaliglow:

My first impression about this product was awful. I believe the first pump must have held dried-out product. I blended it out and it just crumbled into nothing. Then after three to four pumps, I gathered courage of using it on the hand. When I applied it on the face, I noticed that it has to be blended out quickly or else it just settles on the skin like a light layer. It is awkward! I do not like it for spot highlighting the nose or the cheek bones because the blending is not good.

I tried it with foundation in the ratio of 1:5 and it added a nice glow to the skin. This color is apt for fair skin only as it would look white and ashy in pictures on deeper skin tones.

I also like how it does not have chunky glitter in it. The subtle glow is good when just a drop is mixed with makeup foundation. I am not too keen on using this with moisturiser or for spot highlighting the face.

You have to use a mixing medium with it literally or else the gel-based product just dries on your skin patches.

Pros of Faces Canada Opal Ultime Pro Metaliglow:

  • Good for fair skin.
  • Nice bottle and pump dispenser.
  • Good to mix with foundation to get overall facial glow.
  • No chunky shimmer.

Cons of Faces Canada Opal Ultime Pro Metaliglow:

  • Dries out very soon, so you have to work with it fast.
  • Not ideal for highlighting nose or cheekbones as it becomes patchy.
  • Could be a bit too bright for deeper skin tones.

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Faces Canada Opal Ultime Pro Metaliglow?
Not really, as I feel I am not in control of the product. For mixing with foundation, you could try it out. Overall, I have not grown too fond of it.

  1. I have also used one of these but could not really like it. I now add NYX one to my foundation and it adds a nice glow. I would prefer the NYX ones anyday.
