Faces Cosmetics Travel Brush Kit Review

After my horrid experience with the MUA of FACES at Skywalk, Anna Nagar, Chennai I had a kind of aversion with FACES the whole brands. I mean I didnโ€™t find anything exciting with them. ๐Ÿ™

A brief about my experience with FACES, MUA. She was speaking in TAMIL! I mean thereโ€™s nothing wrong in it, but she should have known English too, I mean I donโ€™t know, I asked her to swatch eyeshadows and she told me โ€œ FACES from CANADAโ€, I was like huh..??? Being a MUA, she didnโ€™t leave any stone unturned to horrify me, she was dusky and she had applied florescent purple eyeshadow her self, with a horrendous dark Maroon lipstick, I somehow like pleasant looking MUAโ€™s :P. I have no issues with that too; my problem was if the company needs to sell its products it must hire a good staff who knows Basic English. Moreover all their products were dusty. ๐Ÿ™ย  I mean Skywalk is supposedly one of the best malls in Anna Nagar, and this?? No wonder their counter was empty. ๐Ÿ™

Anyways, coming back to my kit. I was looking for an affordable make up brushes kit, something that is handy and doesnโ€™t occupy a lot of space in my vanity or handbag. I think I found it with this set.

Faces Cosmetics Brush Set

The main reason for picking this kit was the packing. It has this hard plastic box which contains the brushes. I hate my brush hair getting withered and scattered. Yikesss!!

Faces Cosmetics Brush Set

Price of the kit: Rs 195 only

What does the Kit contain?

So the FACES COSMETIC TRAVEL KIT contains all the 5 most essential brushes.
1: Blush brush
2: Angled eye shadow brush
3: Eyeliner brush
4: Eyeshadow brush
5: Sponge eyeshadow applicator

They are so neatly packed. ๐Ÿ™‚

The packaging:

Faces Cosmetics Brush Set

The whole pack comes in a neat plastic cover and the brushes are embedded in a hard plastic case with brush holders. The eyeliner brush and the blush brush has separate covers for their hair.

I totally love the hard plastic case. <3

The quality:
The company states โ€œOur designer brushes are a true investment. This brush collection is composed of all real hair, making these brushes last anywhere from 5-10 years with proper care and maintenance. Our brushes provide even distribution and blend makeup professionally.โ€
The blush brush:

Blush brush

  • Itโ€™s made from goat hair.
  • Itโ€™s thick, and packs blush aptly. Can be used for bronzers and pigments too.
  • Extremely or ultra soft and proffers a great application.
  • The brush hairs are even.

The Angled eye shadow brush:

Angled Brush

  • The brush hairs are slightly harder as compared to the other brushes.
  • But it was a bit unevenly cut. ๐Ÿ™
  • Does its job satisfactorily.

The Eyeliner brush:

Eye liner Brush

  • I loved this one, after the blush brush.
  • Itโ€™s made from Sable hair.
  • Itโ€™s totally professional, I mean it doesnโ€™t separate the eyeliner or lets it to get out of shape. Itโ€™s stiff.
  • It has a hard plastic cover for its hair..Yeyyy.. ( I suddenly realized that I love hard plastic :P)

The eyeshadow brush:

The eyeshadow brush

  • Itโ€™s again made from Sable hair.
  • Blends well, specially the contour colors.
  • Soft.
  • I found it cute too. ๐Ÿ˜›

The sponge eyeshadow applicator:

The sponge eyeshadow applicator:

  • When I saw it, I just prayed that I wish it will last for few months.
  • I tried to pull it, but itโ€™s still there. So itโ€™s kinda strong and sturdy. ๐Ÿ˜›
  • Sponge so obviously soft.

Why I like it?

  • Affordable
  • Quality
  • Does its job
  • Not to forget the plastic case. ๐Ÿ˜›

Things I hated about it:
โ€ข I wish the sponge applicator wasnโ€™t there; instead they could give us a nice brush foundation brush.

My take on the product:

I would recommend it, for all the learners and make up newbies. You can certainly experiment with it.

I would also recommend it to the other ladies, who are in a look for a compact brush set.

My rating: 4/5

1 point deducted for the sponge applicator and uneven angled brush. ๐Ÿ™

  4. heehee..MUAs sand makeup …they do makeup as if they are live showcases of every pigment the company makes-but in Kolkata-the faces store SA I once saw-could convince a customer to buy loads of stuff..I myself was drawn to it-but I wanted to check reviews before :sidefrown: :sidefrown: :music: :music:
and hey great review!! :rainbow: :rainbow: I am a sucker for good makeup brushes and I think Indian makeup companys overlook this completely- I had a hard time to find a good kabuki (or make the store people understand what it is ) :silly: :silly:

      1. yes…these are like good brushes…for amateurs too…… why do FACES SA’s all make up horrendous faces..? :tremble: :tremble: :tremble: :tremble:

      1. It’s kinda nice that the brushes are not scratchy…I had this bare essential kit for the similar price and the brushes are so hard and scratchy. I finally had to throw away all the brushes…

        1. ouch..u threw them…?? i mean actually threw them.. ๐Ÿ™

jus the angled brush is a bit unsatisfactory..rest all are good for amateurs and beginners… ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜‰

  5. Zeeba, really gonna get it soon.. donno if ‘faces’ is available in kerala.. ๐Ÿ™ me too wished if they wud hav given foundation or concealer brush instead of those sponge applicator.. I found a similer kit from maybelline in some haul post in IMBB.. ๐Ÿ™‚

      1. Yup.. U r rite zeeba.. Itz frm oriflame.. ๐Ÿ™‚ i juz checkd dat post by Suma.. She also had Maybelline blush in her haul.. Datz y i mistakely thought itz maybelline brush kit.. Bt faces is more cheap dan oriflame na.. ๐Ÿ™‚

        1. yupp the oriflame brush kit comes for around 750 bucks yet has no stippling brush or kabuki or buffer..way too pricey ๐Ÿ™ ๐Ÿ™ ๐Ÿ™

  6. its by VOV…. ๐Ÿ™‚
    :jiggy2: :jiggy2: :jiggy2:

    1. no ya i am nt frm chennai…bt visit frequently… :).but my grandmom stays there…I mean Dadi..she had been there for a surgery….i am frm pune.. ๐Ÿ™‚ u frm chennai?where in chennai..

  7. Thanks for the review Zeeba. I have been wanting to pick this up, but I wanted to see if there were any reviews of it first. My main concern was that the hairs might be too rough, but since you’ve said that it’s soft, I’m convinced. I’m going to buy this tomorrow. FYI, there is also a FACES counter in Naidu Hall, Pondy Bazaar. The MUA there normally speak decent English. As for Skywalk, its totally overrated. I mean, it doesn’t actually have a ‘functioning’ skywalk!

  8. Zeeba never knew u were from Chennai and never knew there was faces in skywalk… I just stay close by and see ๐Ÿ˜ I really wanna see the MUA [is she??] Thanks for sharing ๐Ÿ™‚
