Garnier Ultra Blends 5 Precious Herbs Oil-In-Cream Review

Hair: Dry, frizzy, rough with dandruff prone itchy scalp

Though I love oiling my hair, in summers oils make my scalp very sweaty. When I spotted this beauty from the new Garnier Ultra Blends range, I knew I had to pick it up. In fact, I have previously used the L’Oréal Paris 6 Oil Nourish Oil-in-Cream, which was great for my dry and rough hair. So I tried this new oil-in-cream, and I must say I am definitely happy. My Experience with Garnier Ultra Blends 5 Precious Herbs Oil-In-Cream:

This product comes in a light green tube with a golden flip open cap. Tube is both gorgeous and sturdy. It has two size options. I have the 100ml tube, so it is small and travel-friendly. All the details are nicely mentioned on the tube. The packaging is so lovely and convenient. Also, I feel it is quite economical for the quantity provided.
The texture of this cream just right, it is neither too thick nor runny. The medium creamy consistency is ideal for applying on hair and glides smoothly on my coarse dry hair. The cream is white in color and it gets absorbed quickly. It doesn’t leave any residue neither does it feel sticky or oily.

A little amount of product is needed for my shoulder length hair. My hair is quite unmanageable, and mostly I need to slather up products like hair serums. This, on the contrary, works well with just a little amount. The fragrance is pleasant and has a feel-good vibe about it. Nothing overpowering although. It doesn’t weigh my hair down. This is an oil-in-cream product and is enriched with the benefits of 5 herbs: lemon, green tea, henna, aloe vera and eucalyptus. The list seems perfect for summers! I tried it as an overnight therapy, used it before shampooing and after shampooing as a leave-in treatment. It works equally well in each way, although I prefer the “leave-in” way best.

Overnight therapy: The overnight application is replacement for the traditional oiling without the stickiness and discomfort. It gives smooth, silky and soft hair after you wash it off the next morning. As it gets enough time to work on the hair strands from root to tips,it provides a lovely shine and makes hair healthier.

Before shampoo: I tried this because the L’Oréal one worked well this way. If you have some time before shampooing, then try this way. Leave it for 30 minutes at least and wash off to reveal super smooth and manageable hair.

After shampoo: For my very dry hair, this method of use as a leave-in cream or conditioner is best. You can use it on both wet and dry hair. It provides very soft and silky hair. I love the smooth silky texture I get without making my hair oily. Also it doesn’t weigh my hair down. Massage it well on your hair strands and see how easily your hair regains it shine and softness. Also it helps in easy detangling the hair.

My hair is not super dry or damaged, but it is rough and frizzy. Serums though an integral part of my hair care, tend to make my hair oily. This on the other hand, doesn’t compromise on the bounce and volume, plus makes the locks so soft and lustrous. In case you use it on greasy or unwashed hair, it works but it isn’t that effective. Also if you use it for three days consecutively on unwashed hair, you will notice some stiffness in your strands. That’s because the grease and grime in your hair do not allow this product to work properly. It does have a long list of chemicals, but I really like the way it works. For now, I am enjoying it, though I have not completely stopped the oiling routine.
