Garnier Whole Blends Color Care Shampoo with Argan Oil and Cranberry Extracts Review

I absolutely loved the Ultra Blends range of Garnier which is easily available in India. When I saw this Whole Blends shampoo in the aisle of the department store, I picked it up without any second thought. Later, I saw it was meant for color protection. So I gave it to my cousin, who has colored hair. Today’s review will be based on her experiences with some inputs from my end. I have used it on my untreated, uncolored hair and feel it’s a good shampoo for regular use.

My Experience with Garnier Whole Blends Color Care Shampoo with Argan Oil and Cranberry Extracts:

The packaging of Garnier’s ‘Blends’ range is pretty standard. It comes in a slightly flattened bottle with a flip open cap, which is a beautiful bright maroon. The picture and the fonts are pretty catchy. All product details are mentioned on the back of the bottle. It is lightweight and easy to carry.

The shampoo is a white colored, runny liquid which has a really pleasant smell. It feels nice to have the scent wafting in the shower cubicle and it also lingers in hair for a few hours. The shampoo lathers well and can clean oil, dirt and grease easily. It doesn’t irritate the scalp. I find it easy to wash off, as it doesn’t leave a sticky film or residue.

It actually showed variable results. With the conditioner from the same range which my sister purchased later, it gave great results. It made her colored and permed hair soft and bouncy. Her hair color, which is a mixture of burgundy and golden highlights, shone; and the color was very striking. She has used it for more than a month and feels it’s a good one for color treated hair. So it suited her hair type quite well. On its own, however, the shampoo is pretty average. It just cleans hair, without any added conditioning properties.

I used the shampoo and followed it up with a regular conditioner. Well, nothing to write home about. It didn’t catch my fancy, as it just cleaned my hair. I had to use a serum to detangle my hair. It didn’t show any effect on hair fall or hair breakage, neither did it add luster or reduce frizz.
