8 Ways to Avoid Frizzy Hair Permanently

Hello friends,

Today, we would be talking about how to get rid of frizzy hair permanently. Frizz is extremely tricky to handle and leaves your hair in a bad condition. People with frizzy hair find it difficult to manage, especially during extremely dry or cold weather. So, if you are dealing with dull, dry and frizzy hair, here are some tricks that will help you get rid of it forever.

Vinegar rinse

Vinegar is a natural way to get rid of the frizz in the hair. In order to treat frizzy, dull and dry hair, you should wash your hair every day with vinegar. Take one cup of vinegar and mix it with one cup of water and use this mixture as your final rinse. It will condition your hair an add shine too.

Banana mask

Banana contains nourishing properties that can nourish your scalp and hair deeply. It also removes excessive frizz from hair and leaves you with manageable tresses. In order to make a banana mask, take one banana and mash it to make a paste. Add some honey to it and apply it on your scalp as well as hair. Wash it off with cold water.

Hot oil massage

Hot oil massage is yet another important tip that can help you get rid of frizzy hair permanently. Take some coconut oil and heat it for a few seconds. Use your finger tips to massage your hair and leave the oil on for 40 minutes. Rinse it off with lukewarm water and a gentle shampoo. A hot oil massage session not only hydrates your scalp but also prevents further damage.

Opt for buns

If your hair gets frizzy quite easily, then keep your hair secured in a bun. Buns are stylish and keep your hair damage-free too. Not only buns, you can opt for other hairstyles that keep your hair protected. This trick will eventually remove all damage from your hair and make it frizz free.

Japanese straightening

Another common way to get rid of frizzy hair permanently is opting for the Japanese hair straightening technique. Japanese straightening is also known as thermal reconditioning. This process involves breaking hair proteins, thus making your hair less frizzy. The results are little different than keratin treatment. This treatment will keep your hair frizz-free and straight for more than a year.

Start brushing your hair when it’s still wet

Don’t wait until your hair is fully dry to start combing it. To cut down on frizz, start combing your hair once it is semi-dry with a wide comb. Dry your hair naturally and keep combing through every now and then so that the texture of your hair becomes smoother.

Vitamin E oil mask

Take Vitamin E oil and mix it with almond oil in 1:5 ratio. Mix both the ingredients well and slightly warm this mixture up. Massage your scalp with this oil and make sure you cover the roots and tips of the hair well. Leave it on for at least an hour and then rinse off with warm water. This mask is hydrating as well as moisturizing. You can also use olive oil, argan oil, avocado oil or jojoba oil in this remedy.

Keep your hair protected

One important tip: you should protect your hair from sun, wind and other types of damage. These factors can leave your hair super dry and frizzy. Always use products with UV protection for hair such as serums, conditioners etc. And, keep your hair covered in polluted areas.

  1. Combing your hair while it is still wet is the worst thing you can do for your hair..Your hair follicles will be quite wide after a hair wash. So, never comb while wet.

  2. Hi Nivetha, combing your hair while wet can definitely lead to hair loss and hence it is advised that you should be combing using a wide toothbrush. Once the hair gets dry, your hair becomes frizzy again.

So, combing your hair but with wide tooth brush 🙂

  3. How long do I need to do the vinegar treatment? Everyday you say, does that mean indefinitely, I am somewhat confused.
Will treatment permanentlink remove the frizz?
    Thank you

  4. My granddaughter is 9. She has very thick and frizzy hair.what can I do to get rid of the frizz.she is scared of a heated straighter.i don’t know if it matters she is white

    1. Hi Terri. I suggest you give the CG (curly girl) method a go. It might help define the texture of her hair and reduce frizz. You can use products of any brand that are CG friendly, I.e. silicone free conditioners, creams, and/or gels, and if you choose to shampoo instead of cowashing then make sure it is a sulphate-free one. Hope it works for you 🙂
