Givenchy 22 Vintage Pink Le Prisme Blush Review

Hello Everyone,

This review will be on the Givenchy Vintage Pink Le Prisme Blush.

About The Product:

A four-color blush with a matte texture.

What it does:

This new formula contains a higher pigment concentration that delivers immediate color payoff on the cheeks. As with the complete Prismes concept, the “quatuor” (or 4 shades) may be used alone or mixed together for a made-to-measure look. The blush’s upper right shade is the reference shade for the final result when mixing altogether. Get just the touch of color needed to shape and add dimension to the face.

My Experience with 22 Givenchy Vintage Pink Le Prisme Blush:

Packaging:

This blush has the cutest packaging. It is dainty little box with the square geometric design on the top. The box closes securely and has a tiny mirror inside. Also, there is secret compartment under the blush which slides out and houses a tiny semi-circle brush.

The brush is not too dense and is tiny. Though it does get the job done to sweep product on the cheek in a hurry, it is not my preferred brush to apply this product. The bristles are not scratchy but they are not super soft either.

Texture:

This powder is really silky soft but it is not powdery. It does not cause powder to kick up when you dip your brush in. It applies smooth on the skin and does not go on patchy. It does not accentuate my pores or dry patches.

Pigmentation:

I was highly disappointed with the pigmentation of the shade. Though it is easily build-able, I have  to apply 4-5 layers of this powder for it to show up on my Light-Medium (NW22-25 skintone). You can see how poor the pigmentation is in the picture where I have swatched them individually. The swatch of the shade all swirled together is very heavily applied.

Finish:

This blush has no shimmer and gives a matte finish. The finish does not look flat on the skin but it does give a nice luminous healthy look to the skin.

Shade:

This blush comes in 4 variations. The shade Vintage Pink consist of 4 different colors namely 2 shades of light pink, 1 shade of nude orange based pink and 1 shade of plum based pink. This blush is marketed in a way that you can use all the shades individually or all swirled together. All the shades swirled together give a very pretty natural looking rosy pink color to the cheeks. As far as using these colors individually, the individual quad of the color are so tiny that there is no possible blush brush I can use to get a selective pick. Each individual color in the quad is a tad bit bigger than my thumbnail.

Staying Power:

Staying power is okay. It stayed on my skin for 4-5 hours before I started to notice fading. Not very impressive.

Fragrance:

It has a faint perfume-type scent which is not apparent when you apply it. Overall, this is not a product I am very impressed with. I was highly disappointed and was not expecting such poor pigmentation from a product of such a high-end brand, with such a high price tag. Though the shade is very pretty and flattering on my skin when applied heavy-handedly in many layers; and the packaging is the cutest, I wouldn’t recommend this blush.

Pros of Givenchy 22 Vintage Pink Le Prisme Blush:

• Pretty dainty box packaging
• Beautiful summery pink shade
• Silky soft powder. Very smooth to touch
• Comes with a tiny brush
• Has a nice faint perfume scent which I really like
• Matte finish which does not look flat
• Does not look chalky or accentuate pores or dry patches
• Buildable pigmentation does not go uneven or streaky.

  1. Aww.. everything is so tiny about it, but its packaging is beautiful. And, i love how these shades are looking in the swatch.
