A big hi to all out here,
So, while many of my fellow daayans were getting orange/red tasty cakes, wine, cosmetics, imported underwear/uparwear, heavy bulky cameras, pink beads necklace in medicine bottle, and candlelit dinners at vegetarian restaurants (which I really don’t bother about), as Valentine’s Day gifts, I had to be content with a musical e-card. Though, I earlier stated that I don’t think much of Valentine’s Day other than it being a huge marketing strategy, I did feel left out. So, to come out of the sulking, I checked my bank balance (peanuts) and put my whole family into a car and drove to Malabar Gold in Hyderabad city. Me and my family are regulars at Malabar Gold, Hyderabad, and we are always greeted with lot of warmth and treated to coffee, cold drink, nimbu paani, frooti, and everything except Limca and they have this separate play area for kids where they can play with lots of colourful balls. I left Aarohan there and shopped in peace. So, here’s what I bought:
A gold chain for Aarohan. Actually, I went to buy a chain for me, but most of the designs were what I already had used or have with me currently, so I bought a gold chain for my son.
Here’s Aarohan wearing the chain.
Actually, Malabar Gold has a separate jewellery section for kids, called Starlet, but the making charges are quite high (21% making charges + wastage) in comparison to the regular 916 gold, so I skipped that.
I also bought a bangle for Aarohan because I liked the design.
And here’s what I got for myself, a pair of jhumkas.I have large umbrella ones, which my mom got for my marriage, but that causes me a lot of social embarrassment, so I picked this one for daily use.
And as for the goodies.They gave free balloons and transparent pouches along with the jewellery box. I was more bothered about how many pouches I would be getting rather than bothering about VAT and billing and they seemed pretty much amused and handed me a lots of pouches and balloons free free free.
