Hello All You Lovelies!
I’ve been suffering from a very bad case of hair loss for a couple of years now. I saw it go from dark, shiny, lustrous to limp, thinning, frizzy within a span of three years. I tried so many things – oils, hair packs, lotions, hair creams, trips to the dermatologist, you name it, but nothing helped. Recently I got a Thyroid Function Test done and it was hypothyroidism that was to blame for the entire time. I’m on medication now. However I’d like to review for you a hair cream that I tried some months ago. Do read on.
Name of the Product:
Himalaya Herbals Anti Hair Loss Cream
Price: Rs185 for 50ml.
- Enhances hair follicular density.
- Improves tensile strength of hair.
Each ml contains: Exts. Palasha(Butea monosperma) 4.73mg, Palashabheda(Butea parviflora) 4.73mg
Inactives: Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben IP, Propylparaben IP.
My Experience with Himalaya Herbals Anti Hair Loss Cream:
The cream comes in a white tube with a flip open dark green cap, with an enclosing outer carton which gives a detailed explanation of how the product works towards achieving the goal of stopping hail loss. When I first received the product and went through the details on the carton I was awestruck by the facts about hair loss provided and was more than convinced that this meant the end of my hair loss diaries. But, as they say, you must never judge a book by its covers.
The cream itself if mustard in colour and has the consistency that lies somewhat between that of a cream and a lotion. The smell is very intense, a pungent smell of herbs. When you apply it, it gets absorbed easily, leaving the scalp very oily. I hated it, even more so because people with extreme cases of hair fall were suggested to apply the product two times a day, seven days a week. So you can imagine how ridiculously greasy hair I sported during the time I was using this product. But I was desperate at the time and put up with this irksome product for more than a month.
The product claims to reduce hair fall by 20% after two weeks of usage. In my case, there was no reduction in hair fall whatsoever. But I trudged on with the infernal routine of slathering my scalp with this product twice a day. A month later, and nothing happened. My hair fall was as alarming as it had been a month earlier. The product also promises the increase of tensile strength of hair within one month, but I saw no difference in the quality of my hair. My hair remained as prone to breakage mid-length as it had been earlier. The product promises upto 70% decrease of hair loss in six months. But I didn’t think the product was working for me, so decided to stop using it. I was honestly very disappointed.
Pros of Himalaya Herbals Anti Hair Loss Cream:
None that I can think of.
Cons of Himalaya Herbals Anti Hair Loss Cream:
- Does not stop hair loss ( for me it was not in the least)
- Tends to get oily.
- Intense herb-y smell that is irritating.
- Contains methyl and propyl parabens.
