I am an avid fan of matte lipsticks because not only are they a huge rage these days, but also, they look so classy on my face. Shiny and glossy lip products just look over the top and a “bit too much” on my face and my skin tone. The best way to get matte lip color is by applying liquid lipsticks and these days, makeup industry is inundated with liquid lipsticks from each and every brand. Each brand has different kind of liquid lipsticks, so needless to say, we have so many options to choose from. This review is about one such liquid lipstick – Jordana Sweet Cream Matte Liquid Lip Color in the shade “Cinnamon Toast.”

My Experience with Jordana Sweet Cream Matte Liquid Lip Color Cinnamon Toast:
The packaging of this liquid lipstick is just like the other liquid lipsticks that we see on makeup aisles of different brands. The product comes in a transparent, plastic tube through which we can see the color of the lipstick and it has a twist-up cap. The cap holds the usual doe-foot applicator which makes application easier, especially around the corner of the mouth and the outline.
This liquid lipstick comes in 18 shades and they all vary from reds to n*des to corals with warm and cool tones, hence there is at least one shade for all of us. The size of the tube is smaller than most of the liquid lipsticks that we see in the market but since most of us do not finish lip products, I do not see this as a disadvantage.
“Cinnamon Toast” is a warm brown color with red undertones. It’s neither too pale nor too dark. It will look equally good on both dark and light skin tones. I first tried it on my bare lips without any lip balm on. The applicator helped me reach the corner of my lips well and outline my lips neatly. It did not give complete opacity in the first application, but it was not too disappointing, especially for the money paid. With the second coat, I achieved complete coverage and a neat finish.
The product has an artificial fragrance which is a big let-down. The staying power is not bad so long as we don’t eat and most importantly, it does dry out lips like most liquid lipsticks, however, it is better than Colourpop liquid lipsticks which are just too uncomfortable to wear. These liquid lipsticks by Jordana perform better with a mild lip balm underneath.
Pros of Jordana Sweet Cream Matte Liquid Lip Color Cinnamon Toast:
- It is an affordable liquid lipstick that comes in 18 different shades.
- There is at least one shade for each one of us.
- The packaging is cheap, especially for the money paid.
- It gives good coverage in two coats.
- It lasts well till we have a greasy meal.
- It does not dry out lips like other products.
Cons of Jordana Sweet Cream Matte Liquid Lip Color Cinnamon Toast:
- It has a very strong fragrance which would mean high alcohol content and bothers me.
- One coat is not enough to get full coverage.
- It will not last during meals.
- It needs a lip balm underneath for comfortable wear.
It is a good effort by Jordana to provide consumers with a more affordable liquid lipstick option. It performs well for the money paid and I do recommend it to others so long as they don’t mind the strong fragrance.
