Kanebo Kate Super Sharp Liner BK-1 Review

Hello there lovelies,

Kate is a Japanese drugstore brand owned by Kanebo and has, at least in my opinion, absolutely stunning quality products. This eyeliner is one of them! What made me purchase this was I was looking for an eyeliner after having run out of my favourite eyeliner called Canmake Strong Eyes Liner. It is the same price as the Canmake liner and it is truly worth your money! It lasts as long as the K-Palette 1-Day Tattoo Eyeliner but lesser in cost.

Product Claims:

The brush pen eyeliner for producing super fine lines is now even more advanced: it produces stronger blacks, has higher fade resistance, and applies more smoothly to the skin.

Shades:

The product comes in 3 colours: BK-1, BK, and BR-1.

My Experience with Kanebo Kate Super Sharp Liner BK-1:

The liner is a solid one to add to your collection. It glides on like a dream. I can get my winged liner perfectly with this liner, so one less thing to touch up during the day. There is a ball inside the pen, which you can shake when the liner starts to dry up. I never shake it when it is working okay and it does not seem to affect the application. The color is very opaque and very black. The finish is semi-matte. So, if you are looking for a purely matte eyeliner, I wouldn’t recommend this. It does not tug on the eyes and does not irritate my skin. It is also waterproof and sets very quickly.

Packaging:

It clicks open and shut and is very secure. So you can safely use it for travel.

Brush:

This liner has a brush tip and the product comes out via capillary action. Since the brush tapers at the end and is very pointed, it is very easy to draw a thin and precise line. You can also precisely fill in the area between the lashes (sort of like tightlining) and it does not transfer into the eye when done correctly.

Staying Power:

This lasts all day on me with absolutely zero smudging. It stays put the second you apply it. It does not smudge and does not transfer on top of the eyelid when you blink after application. Since this is waterproof, going out in the rain with this on is no problem! I also have extremely oily eyelids and still does not come off. So you can imagine how good this is!

Use:

I do a winged liner with this and a nice purple mauve lip. It is a simple look for everyday.

How easy is to remove at the end of the day? It does easily come off with my makeup remover but I have to go over the area a few times.

Price:

¥864

Pros of Kanebo Kate Super Sharp Liner BK-1:

  • Amazing staying power (works even for oily eyelids).
  • Budge-proof and does not transfer.
  • Good value for money.
  • Waterproof (even though that is not mentioned on the packaging).
  • Easily removable by makeup remover.
  • Travel friendly.

Cons of Kanebo Kate Super Sharp Liner BK-1:

  • None.

IMBB Rating:

5/5

    1. Awwww that’s the sweetest thing I’ve heard all day! You can get every Japanese product under the sun at Rakuten global jasmine! 🙂

  1. Always a big fan of your reviews and Japanese products. Have you tried the Dolly Wink eyeliners? They’re pretty big in the blogging community. Would love to know how you liked it. Much love. xx

    1. I have used Dolly Wink..very cheap and common here in Japan..But I guess they are good for people who like lengthening their lashes..not good for volumizing effect.
