My Experience with Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick Ludwig:

Let’s start with the packaging of the product. This liquid lipstick comes in a black colored cardboard box with silver detailing. The lipstick comes in a long cylindrical plastic tube. The packaging is very sleek and hence, this slender tube can be accommodated easily in any pouch or clutch. The tube is color-coded and hence, it is easier to spot the shade if you own more than one of these beautiful lipsticks.

The shade name is mentioned at the base of the lipstick tube and also on the outer packaging. The lipstick tube closes with screw on cap, which has some quirky patterns on it. There is an applicator attached with this cap. The applicator wand is quite too long and does not give much control on the lipstick application. I personally feel that it would have worked better if the wand was slightly smaller. The applicator is typical doe-foot type and hence easy to achieve perfect application. Overall, the packaging is classy and travel friendly as well.

“Ludwig” is a beautiful warm n*de brown kind of shade. It is suitable for very fair to medium fair skin tones but it will surely wash out deeper complexions. The color is subtle and a good choice for those who want their lips to look more natural. The color is light and can be worn at any time and anywhere without a second thought. This lipstick has turned out to be a perfect n*de brown for me. I love pairing this one with soft smoky eyes for everyday use. The lipstick sets to a lovely matte finish.

The color payoff of the lipstick is great. Two swipes of the color are good enough to deliver opaque finish to the lips. It properly hides lip pigmentation. Though such paler shades have streaking issues but this shade goes on smoothly and evenly on the lips without any streaking. Overall, it is amazing in terms of pigmentation. There is no sheen or shimmer in this lipstick. It has a mild fragrance, which is pleasing and non bothersome.

The texture of the lipstick is incredibly smooth. The formula is thin but not watery. It is so lightweight and glides on the lips like a dream without causing any drag. The formula is so smooth and gets applied easy on the lips. The lipstick spreads effortlessly on the lips, but as it is a matte lip color, you have to make sure your lips are well prepped as it may cling to the dry patches of the lips.

I always prefer exfoliating and moisturizing my lips prior to application to get a smooth finish. I have fine lines on my lips and this liquid lipstick does not emphasize fine lines and makes my lips look smoother. The lipstick does not crumble at all, which is a major concern with these liquid lipsticks. This color goes evenly on the lips without any streaking. The lipstick is waterproof and smudgeproof. Once it sets, it is absolutely transferproof. It does not budge even after a full meal. The formula is lightweight and feels super comfortable on the lips. It is absolutely non sticky. The lipstick dries out pretty quickly in some 40-50 seconds. So, I have to be really quick while applying the lip color for a perfect finish. I did not find these lipsticks to be really dry on the lips but they are not moisturizing either.

The lasting power of this shade is somewhere around 6-7 hours without any smearing or smudging. It survives normal drinking or light snacking but a full oily meal breaks down the product and the lipstick fades away from the center of the lips. So, it requires reapplication after a heavy meal. The lipstick has a non-staining formula but it can be taken off with a good makeup remover.
