Hey lovely ladies,
I am so excited to share this review with you. The shade “Plath” launched in US a couple of days ago and I wanted to get this review out asap. The KVD Everlasting liquid lipstick is my favourite liquid lipstick formula and when the Company decided to launch more shades to the existing line up, I was a happy camper! So, let us find out about this new shade form KVD.
A long-wear, full-coverage liquid lipstick with a smooth, matte finish. Now, with 16 additional, bold shades of Everlasting liquid lipstick for all-night wear, this innovative formula gives lips long-lasting wear and high-pigment color. Its creamy, color-rich formula glides over lips like a gloss but dries to a true matte finish. It’s infused with natural comfort-enhancing ingredients, including vitamin E and sunflower seed so you can flaunt lasting matte color that leaves lips feeling comfortable. It is formulated without parabens.
US $20/AED 100
It’s a lip gloss kind of packaging – only sleeker and prettier! The packaging is long and slender with exquisite artwork. The tube is transparent so it’s easy to identify the colour. The bottle comes packaged in the standard KVD black outer box. The applicator is a soft and bendy (refer to the pics), and makes for easy and precise application.
My Experience with Kat Von D Plath Everlasting Liquid Lipstick:
Color: The shade “Plath” is a warm-toned reddish brown. Initially, I thought it might be a dupe of Lime Crime Saddle. However, it isn’t! Though both colours are warm-toned deep browns, Saddle is more rust/orange toned, while this one is more reddish. In terms of just colour, I think I prefer the rusty tones of Saddle over this. I feel this would be more suitable for deeper skin tones, especially who have a bit of red/pink in them.
The shade is quite pretty and a unique twist of brown. However, this may not be the colour for everyone – for obvious reasons – it could be out of comfort zone.
Texture: The texture is definitely consistent across the line – it is lightweight and creamy liquid. It goes on smoothly and sets fairly quickly to a totally matte finish. Despite being a total matte, it does not dry out the lips or make them feel prunish. There is very little stretchy feeling, which is just post it drying down. It soon goes away and your lips feel comfortable through the wear time. Though comfortable, it isn’t hydrating. If you have really dry lips (we are still experiencing a bit of winter weather), I suggest you nourish your lips with a lip balm before you start applying makeup and when it’s time for the lipstick, pat off the lip balm and then apply the lipstick.
Pigmentation: Pigmentation is excellent on this one, one swipe has full colour deposit – it’s opaque and covers all lip pigmentation. The pigment spreads evenly and doesn’t sink into lip lines.
Lasting Power: The product lasts about 6 hours through light snacks. As is common with the long-wearing formulas – oil will break down the product – be it cleansing oil at the end of the day or the oil in your food. You can easily do a touch up – it will not look patchy. You do not need to remove the entire lipstick and reapply. Also, it wears off evenly and does not get patchy. However, considering how deep the colour is, once it starts wearing off, the wear is clearly visible.
To sum this up for youL

Cons of Kat Von D Plath Everlasting Liquid Lipstick:
- You feel a bit of stretch when it first dries off, but the feeling is minimal and short lived.
The formula is consistent, yet this shade has a little lower wear time because of how deep the shade is. Once it starts wearing off, you have no choice but to re-apply. It is a very unique shade but I don’t think it will be my go-to shade. Just like the ever famous Lolita, I feel the shade is beautiful, but may not be a must have for our Asian skin tone. This shade reminds me of MAC Folie. Yes, I cannot cannot compare a lipstick to an eyeshadow, but that is the closest shade i can think of to this colour.
Would I Repurchase Kat Von D Plath Everlasting Liquid Lipstick?
I don’t thinks so. Maybe, I am getting influenced by Lime Crime Saddle and leaning towards it. I know I shouldn’t really be comparing them but discussing each of them individually. But since both shades are in the same family and i just reviewed Lime Crime Saddle – my mind cannot resist comparing. I do prefer the rusty notes to the reddish brown ones though both are quite pretty in their own right.
