My Experience:
After seeing Vini’s addiction to Kerastase products, I was super tempted to get my hands on them. She mentioned about Kerastase oil,which was a mixture of 7 precious oils. The one I picked up is a mixture of 4 oils – maize, argan, camellia, pracaxi. I went to Looks the other day. I didn’t have time to style my hair that day so they were just air dried and also a bit frizzy. The hair stylist gave a pump of this oil in my hands and asked me rub through the length of my hair. and OMG! My hair looked like million bucks – shiny, manageable, silky and super smooth.
I read the ingredients list and the second ingredient, which is dimethiconol put me off. It is basically a silicon which has both its advantages and disadvantages. You may read more about it HERE and HERE. I still went ahead with it since it also contains 4 very good oils and it did wonders to my hair.
This product can be used:
- as a regular oil for oil massage
- before blow drying as a heat protectant
- to add shine and control the frizz after you wash your hair.
It comes in a lovely pump bottle. The cap can be twisted and closed to a satisfying lock. So you can carry it with you.
The texture is light oil cum gel kinds.. more towards oil kind of consistency. You barely need a pump or two for shoulder length hair. It does not make your hair oily. But if you use a lot of product , it would make your hair oily. I suggest work the maximum product on the length of your hair and not on your scalp – until you are going for an oil massage with it.
My hair stay super conditioned and good looking atleast for 2 days after I use it as a post-wash conditioner. And then I mostly wash my hair and re-use it.
It smells really nice to me. Slightly coocnutty and a mix of something really nice. Don’t ask. 😛
Overall, I LOOOVEEE this product despite its cons. Nothing else has worked so wonderfully for my hair. It’s just amazing. Give it a try at the salon before you buy it. It comes in 4 variations for different hair types. The SA mentioned that this one is for normal to dry hair. I think I agree with it. It is the perfect product for my hair type.
I suggest not using it on dirty hair. You’d just be piling on product on your hair.
