Hey Lovely Ladies,
I still seem to be in a lip product mode. I have for you another shade from Kevyn Aucoin Lip Pencil range. When picking shades, I was extremely tempted to buy the cult favourite shade”Medium”. But, I had a feeling that it might not work for my light to medium skin tone and would probably be a shade more suited towards fair to light skin. The swatches I saw of Minimal made me feel that this could be a better MLBB/neutral shade for me. So, let us find out if this shade worked for me or not.
What it is:
A lip pencil that glides on smoothly and evenly for perfectly defined lips.
What it does:
This Kevyn Aucoin cult classic creates fuller-looking lips and prevents lip color from bleeding. Its long-wearing, non-drying formula easily glides onto lips to create the perfect lip look.
Mica, Titanium Dioxide (Cl 77891), Iron Oxides (Cl 77491, Cl 77492, Cl 77499), Red 7 Lake (Cl 15850:1), Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Ceresin, Paraffin, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Talc, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Tocopherol, Vanillin, Ascorbyl Palmitate.

My Experience with Kevyn Aucoin The Flesh Tone Lip pencil Minimal:
Packaging: The lip pencil comes packaged in the golden box, like most Kevyn Aucoin products. The pencil itself is a regular wooden one which needs to be sharpened. The pencil does not come with a sharpener but a regular sharpener works fine with it. The lip pencil is coated with glossy gradient finish which looks quite understated and classy. The shade name is mentioned on the side.
Like most lip pencils, the bottom is colour-cordinated to the shade of the lip pencil, so you are able to identify the shade at a glance. The cap fits snugly and has never come askew accidentally.
Shade: The shade, Minimal, is a medium to dark, dirty brown toned pink shade which works quite nicely as an MLBB shade or a neutral type of shade with a variety of looks. Used lightly, it’s a perfect MLBB shade for me. The FOTD shows you the built up shade. It is a non-obtrusive shade which works with a number of eye looks, but isn’t necessarily flattering on its own.
Texture: The lip pencil texture feels hard, unlike creamy ones, from say MAC or Huda or Colorbar, etc. It’s like a hardened gel formula, but this is actually a great thing about the texture and not a con. The lip pencil still glides smoothly onto the lips without skipping, tugging, pulling at the lips. Since the formula is harder, it does not lose the tip with every use – so the same amount of product last you a long time. You get multiple uses from the same tip. Also, the gel-like formula ensures that there is no added texture onto the lips. The color imparted on the lips is very lightweight and comes out as a very thin layer, which works well if you want to use it as a base for a lipstick. It will not move around or bunch up or get uneven. Once it settles, I feel no dry down or tightness or pure evil dryness which certain creamier lip pencils tend to do over time *cough* MAC *cough*. I would not call it hydrating but it’s quite comfortable to wear. And considering that I have had it for over an year, it still hasn’t dried out on me.
Pigmentation: The harder texture of the lip pencil allows you to variate the pigmentation. So, used with a light hand, you will get a soft stained MLBB look – still even pigmentation, still smooth application. Applied with a little pressure or built up – you get the colour visible in the FOTD. This allows you to use the lip pencil both as a base for another colour or on its own.
Lasting Power: The lip liner stays put through the day. An oily meal can break it down from the inner portion of the lower lip, but the rest of it stays pretty much intact. It wears off evenly and hardly leaves any stain.
Fragrance: There is no discernible fragrance.
To sum this up for you:

Do I Recommend Kevyn Aucoin The Flesh Tone Lip pencil Minimal?
This has got to be one of my most favorite lip pencil formula. I wasn’t a regular lip pencil user earlier. But, as I am aging and my pout is getting thinner, the desire to create one has increased! 😉 Also, the definition a lip pencil gives and eases the application of a lipstick is definitely to be seen to be believed. I definitely recommend these.
Disclaimer: Please note, in the FOTD, I have used the product only on my lips. The shade used on my lower lash line, though looks similar, is NOT a lip pencil but an eye pencil in a similar shade.
