I am going crazy over Kiehl’s these days; none of their products have failed me. Though olive oil hair pack wasn’t that promising but then there was nothing bad about it either. Well, today there is yet another hero from Kiehl’s that is very adorable to me . The product I will be reviewing today is the Kiehl’s magic elixr hair reconstructing concentrate. I request all you girls to be patient because my review is going to be quite long today. So let me first start with the following question.
What is an elixir?
When we read the ingredient list on an elixir bottle, we don’t find anything different from the regular hair oil. Elixir is also a blend of various oils but what makes it different from other oils is that it is non-sticky nature. Elixirs are also different from oils as they can be involve in both pre-wash and post-hair wash treatments. The major selling point of these elixirs is their versatility and nourishment and conditioning properties.

My take on Kiehl’s Magic Elixir Hair Restructuring Concentrate :
We Indian beauties love to indulge into deep nourishing hair treatments at least once every week. We all follow those traditional tips and methods which our grand moms teach us. Well, this elixir will change this oiling experience completely and I swear all you girls are going to love it!
The elixir comes in a transparent yellow plastic bottle with a white dispensing cap. The dispensing tip makes the application part super easy and hassle-free. The dispensing tip controls the flow of the product so beautifully that not even drop of this elixir is wasted even if your handling this bottle in hurry.
Consistency: The elixir is transparent and the consistency of this oil is light and slightly runny.
Smell: The elixir has a lovely soothing rosemary kind smell it is not strong or over powering. The aroma of the oil is the very first thing that will relax you during a nice head massage.
My usage method: I use this elixir twice every week. Initially, I wash my hair with a detoxifying shampoo to remove the existing build up from my hair and scalp; after this – I apply this elixir with the help of the dispenser directly on my clean and dry scalp and massage for 5-10 minutes. Massaging this oil is very important.
Then I cover my head with an aluminum foil (this helps to retain the natural scalp heat generating steam kind of effect which we usually get in parlours)I leave the oil for 30 minutes and wash my hair with a sulfate free shampoo (organix cocoa butter shampoo) and voila!!!!
Results: Let me list down the post wash results for my combination hair type (dry ends and medium oily scalp):
• The first thing which is noticeable is the gorgeous shine that this oil imparts.
• My scalp looks clear and flake free.
• Hair is moisturized from scalp to tips.
• Hold your breaths!!! Hair fall reduction by 50% just within the first wash; truly excellent isn’t it?
• The most important thing I noticed is free regulation of the oil which is naturally produced by my scalp. This oil distributes itself beautifully from roots to tips making my hair moisturized from scalp to tips. Hence automatically treating my combination hair type.
• This treatment has in turn eliminated the problems like frizzy ends, tangles and hairfall due to breakage.
So, I can say that this elixir plays a very important role in keeping my scalp healthy which automatically solves all my hair problems. My mom has a dry scalp that tends to get flaky during the winters. She also has used this elixr and post wash results for her dry hair type were also similar.
The oil is meant to be applied only on the scalp. After a month’s usage I can proudly say that now my scalp looks and feels healthy. Now I have finally realized that emptying loads of oil bottles on hair and scalp is not going to help in treating the unequal moisture distribution.
This elixir is gonna last you for 6 months even if you use it like 3 times a week. Also, this elixir doesn’t feel heavy or give that chipku look which we usually get using a normal hair oil. Very little shampoo is required to wash off this oil.
Pros of Kiehl’s Magic Elixir Hair Restructuring Concentrate :
• Treats all scalp types.
• Travel-friendly packing
• No wastage pack.
• Relaxing and soothing scent
• Lasts really long
• Does not give that “oh-so-oily” or limp look
• Free of silicones and heavy chemicals
Cons of Kiehl’s Magic Elixir Hair Restructuring Concentrate :
• Kiehl’s is not available at many places!
Will I recommend or repurchase Kiehl’s Magic Elixir Hair Restructuring Concentrate ?
