Today, I will be reviewing one of the smart fusion lip pencils from Kiko Milano. I have been using this pencil for 5 months and I recently discovered that it hasn’t been reviewed on IMBB. So, I rushed to review this product and here’s how it fared out for me.

My Experience with Kiko Milano Smart Fusion Lip Pencil 516 Cherry Red:

Packaging: The product comes wrapped in a plastic cover. Both the body and the cover of the lip pencil is black in colour. It has an ergonomic hold. At the base of the pencil, the shade number is engraved along with the name of the brand. The bottom of the pencil is marked with a colour imprint of the shade. The packaging is very standard and travel-friendly. There’s nothing outstanding about the packaging.

Since, I have been using this product for quite some time and have sharpened it multiple times, I did a size comparison done with another lip pencil from this range which I didn’t use that much. So, the pencil is actually a standard sized one and not short.

Texture, Pigmentation and Lasting Power: Now, one needs to be careful while sharpening this pencil because, it breaks very easily (due to its smooth texture). This will also explain my badly sharpened pencil. The finish of the lip pencil is supposed to be matte, but it glides on very smoothly on top of moisturized lips and it doesn’t dry or tug. However, I wouldn’t recommend this on dry lips as it will appear patchy. The finish is indeed soft matte.

The colour is a pretty cherry red and there’s enough pigmentation in one swipe. The pigment is easy to blend as well. This colour will look good on all Indian skin tones. I wear this lip pencil on top of a concealer generally, but for this review, I also tested it on just moisturized lips. The lip colour doesn’t transfer much but I noticed a tiny bit of transfer while eating and drinking, but it isn’t very significant. This formulation will fade a bit with oily meals, again, it isn’t a lot of fading and the colour remains still intact. At the end of 8 hours, it faded considerably, but that doesn’t worry me because the faded colour looks like you are wearing a tinted lip balm. I didn’t touch up during these 8 hours, so I will say that the lasting power is good. When I wore it with a concealer underneath it, the colour was intact after 8 hours. During these 8 hours, it didn’t make my lips very dry either, which is remarkable because I have dry lips.

Just to give an idea of how much pigmentation is lost (with just a moisturizer underneath the lips), I have included a picture of my lips after 8 hours as well. I have tried this lip pencil with a lipstick and it indeed helps increasing its lasting power.

Overall, I am very happy with the colour, finish and performance of this lip pencil and will recommend it for everyone.
