A lot has changed since then, all thanks to IMBB. The makeup world has evolved, too. In the present time, makeup is not something that women wear to impress men. My Experience with Kryolan Contour Pencil 913:
Packaging:
Well, there is nothing fancy about the packaging. The product is a basic wooden pencil with a silver body and cap and a colour-coded base. The pencil is very long and will last really long. It is sharpenable, which I think is more hygienic. Although there is product-wastage as the pencil is soft, I think it is okay for a cheap, affordable pencil like this. However, I prefer pencils with colour-coded caps as it helps in easy identification of the product. I have 6 of these pencils and I need to bring them all out to find the one I need. I would really appreciate color-coded caps.
Shade:
The blue is bold, beautiful and gorgeous. It is a navy blue shade and it brightens up the face as soon as you apply it. I was not very sure about how it will look on my skin tone, but it did an amazing job. You will definitely need some courage to carry this shade with confidence. You can rock it in the day as well as in the nights. It will make heads turn and you will feel very powerful once you put this on your lips. 😀
Texture and Staying Power:
The texture of this pencil is a little too soft. It is a boon and a bane at the same time. If you apply pressure, it breaks. It is so soft that you may need to sharpen it twice while you are applying it on the lips. You have to be very careful and gentle while using it. It glides like a dream on the lips and does not make them dry or patchy at all.
I have also noticed the fading of lip wrinkles after applying this and thus it provides a beautiful, fuller pout. I generally do not use any lip pencil separately. Due to its creamy consistency, it never gets too matte and slight color transfer is noticed if you eat something. But the texture changes from a very soft creamy matte to a little drier matte with time.
The problem with this pencil is that if it smudges the blue colour can wreak havoc on your skin and you will have to see blue patches here and there on your face. So you have to be a little careful about using this one. However, it does not fade away with meals and stays in place for 7-8 hours. I have also used it as an eyeliner and it does an amazing job. Also, after removing the product, the lips do not feel dry at all. Instead, it makes the lips feel softer and smoother.
Pigmentation:
The pigmentation is insane. It covers lip pigmentation in one go. And although it transfers – due to creamy texture – it never gets removed from the lips completely. A very little fading is seen in the mid lips. I generally use an oil-based cleanser to remove the product completely.
