My Experience with L.A. Colors Pout Super Shine Lip Gloss Pouty:

This lip gloss comes packaged in a small, cylindrical plastic tube. The tube is transparent and it has an off-white cap bearing the brand’s tagline on it. The see-through tube helps to easily spot the shade. Also, there is a small label on the cap, which indicates the shade name and ingredients list. There is a small doe-foot applicator attached with the cap. This applicator is soft and easy to work with, but it picks up only a small amount of the lip gloss, so I have to dip it again and again to apply it properly. Other than this, the packaging is leak proof and does not occupy much space. So, overall the packaging is basic and travel friendly.

“Pouty” is a beige n*de shade. This shade is quite pale for Indian skin tones and certainly would wash out most of them. It will exclusively flatter fairer skin tones. This shade washes out my complexion when worn without a proper base makeup, but somehow I manage to work with it by putting a full-face and eye makeup. These glosses are sheer ones and do not impart full coverage. So, ideally these are not suitable for people who have pigmented lips.

The brand claims it to be a high shine lip gloss but actually it has a very soft sheen. There are no micro shimmers. It gives a soft glossy look to the lips. I had mentioned already that these LA Colors lip glosses are very sheer in terms of pigmentation and needs to be layered on to show up the color properly. They are definitely not capable in covering high lip pigmentation.

The texture of the lip gloss is smooth and creamy. It glides smoothly on the lips without any tugging or pulling. The formula is thick and I would not say that is lightweight but it is not really heavy either. It feels comfortable on the lips. I can feel the presence of this gloss on my lips, but it does not feel annoying. It is not sticky like most of the drugstore glosses. They look too shiny initially and later on, the shine settles a bit and gives healthy sheen to the lips. The color spreads evenly on the lips without getting patchy.

This lip gloss is not drying. It is not too hydrating. It has a mild vanilla fragrance, which is slightly strong and it does stay for quite long so this can be bothersome for people with sensitive noses. The longevity of this lip gloss is something, which has really disappointed me. It stays for around 2 hours on my lips. It does not survive even light meals and fades away completely. It loses its glossy sheen in the mean time and also the color fades away gradually. So, frequent reapplications are required. This happens to most of the sheer finish lip glosses so this is why I don’t mind reapplying it but it can be annoying at times as it wipes off completely and does not leave any kind of tint behind.
