Today I will be reviewing a Lakme enrich satin lipstick in shade number 256. This is my first and only Enrich satin lippie. I was never really a big fan of enrich satin range but then I bought this shade. Read on to know more about this shade.

My experience with Lakme Enrich Satin Lipstick in 256:

The satin rich lipstick itself is very creamy and pigmented, unlike other brands which offer lippies in this price range. The shade number 256 is a mauvish purple color. It is a mix of mauve and plum color but on a lighter note. This shade gives a sheer coverage on single swipe, not because it is not pigmented enough but because of the nature of color. It has a creamy texture. It never felt a need of a lip balm underneath. It glides very smoothly on lips but if not applied properly it tends to settle in between the lines.

I have dusky complexion and my lips are quite pigmented, so I have to swipe the colour over my lips about two to three times for color to show up. I wear this color on very rare occasions as it looks a bit dark on me. For dusk beauties, if you want to go for a purple or mauvish color, go with purple with pink undertones that will brighten up your face whereas this shade has plum undertones which makes it look a bit dark on me. But this color will look awesome on wheatish and fair skinned beauties.

As far as the packaging is concerned, it is very boring and looks nothing extraordinary. It is made of purple plastic with matte texture. It somehow goes with my shade of lipstick. The only thing I am not happy with is its staying power, it hardly stays on my lips, one cup of coffee and it’s all gone. Elle 18 color pops have better staying power than these.. 😛

• There are cheaper brands available that provide same or better quality
