Lakme M454 Enrich Satin Lipstick Review

Just recently, I picked up another shade from the Lakme’s “Enrich Satin” lipstick range. The description on the lipstick hinted that it’s a red, but it turned out to be something else. Read on to know more about the shade M454 from Lakme’s Enrich Satin lipstick range.

My Experience with Lakme M454 Enrich Satin Lipstick:

Packaging: I am going gaga over the new transparent tube packaging with a ‘concave’ glass on the top that makes the lipstick bullet appear tiny. The see-through packaging gets all my money rather than the shade itself. The shade number is written on a sticker below. I wish they were color-coded to avoid the effort of searching a particular shade in a stash.

Lipstick bullet

Shade: M454 looks like a coppery-brown color in the bullet with fine copper shimmers, but when swatched, it is a different story altogether. It is a reddish kind of brown and actually double colored. It gives a frosty finish which looks like it dates back to 1920s! It somehow manages to look quite okay in the pictures, but looks so weird in reality. This shade is a definite no for most of us.

Brown lipstick

Texture and Pigmentation: The texture is smooth, but not very creamy since it feels thin. It glides on the lips easily. I am not an admirer of this texture though. It transfers crazily because of the texture.

Dark brown lipstick

I think that’s the only good part about this lipstick. The pigmentation is also pretty good enough, not that I care since the shade itself is a big turn off. The description mentioned it to be a red, but to my horror, it is a very non-flattering shade.

Staying Power: I never want to be seen wearing this ever! I wiped it off almost immediately. All my other shades of Enrich Satin lipsticks last for 2.5-3 hours. Because of the texture, it transfers easily. The shimmers are not chunky and thankfully, they don’t make a mess.
