I do like to try out various styles on my hair; sometimes straightening them and sometimes curling. Also, I mostly end up blow drying my hair as air drying them is not really an option in cold winter months. To protect the hair from all this heat, it is absolutely necessary to use some sort of a heat protectant and I keep trying new heat protectant products all the time. Today, I am reviewing the L’Oreal Paris Blow Dry It Thermal Smoother Cream. This was launched by L’oreal in Jan 2015. Read on to find out more.
$4.99 for 5.1 fl oz / 150 ml.
Our lightweight cream formula instantly smoothes hair while protecting from heat damage. No pulling, no tugging.
Instantly smooths and protects. De-frizzes with fibralock technology. Preps hair for stying with heat tools.
How To Use:
Squeeze a quarter-size amount into palm for mid-length hair. Apply on damp hair before blow-drying with a round brush.
My Experience with L’Oreal Paris Blow Dry It Thermal Smoother Cream:
Packaging: The product comes in a black plastic squeezable tube packaging. The packaging is simple yet effective. The cap screws tight and the tube is quite travel friendly.
Formula: The product comes in a cream format; it is not too thick and spreads pretty easily through the hair. I apply a little dollop of the cream to towel dried damp hair and then follow it up with my blow drier. I do not apply the cream to my roots.
Fragrance: The cream has a pleasant fruity fragrance. It lingers on in the hair for around 2-3 hours.
Results: I was initially worried that this product might weigh my hair down as it is a cream and not a spray/mist, but I was relieved to see that it does not. It is very lightweight and you will not feel like you have applied any product to your hair. The product does not make the hair greasy or leave any residue.
It gives a nice silky shiny finish to my hair. My hair feels smooth and some bit of frizz is controlled too. However, I still do see some hair fly aways.
While I cannot really gauge whether this cream protects from damage caused due to heat, I can surely say that my hair has not seen any adverse effects of heat and I will attribute that to this cream.
Pros of L’Oreal Paris Blow Dry It Thermal Smoother Cream:
- Does not weigh the hair down.
- Tames frizz to some extent.
- Protects against damage due to heat.
- Quite inexpensive.
- Travel-friendly packaging.
- Has a pleasant mild fragrance.
- Very affordable.
Cons of L’Oreal Paris Blow Dry It Thermal Smoother Cream:
- Some flyaways can still be seen.
- Contains chemicals.
Would I Repurchase/Recommend L’Oreal Paris Blow Dry It Thermal Smoother Cream?
Yes, if you are on the lookout for a heat protectant cream, you can surely try this out. I will not repurchase as I love to try newer products.
