L’Oreal Paris HiP Concentrated Shadow Duo was one of the first eyeshadows I bought when I first got into makeup a year or so back. L’oreal has their Hip range of products which are more pigmented and targeted as a more economical version to high brands like Mac and Urban Decay. It is regarded as one of the best eyeshadows in the drugstore range. They retail for around $7 in the US. I was so surprised that they are still not available in India given the fact of their popularity abroad.

The one I got was called Mischief and its a combo of Matte black eyeshadow and a shimmering old gold color. They come in around 20 different complementary colors(Purple/Brown, Green/brown, Pink/Bronze etc) in different types like Bright, Metallic and Concentrated.

As stated on their website:
Discover the secret for bold, metallic color with a luminous finish. Expertly coordinated to create an edgy, shimmery look. The rich, super-blendable color glides on evenly for hours of captivating crease-resistant wear.
• Long lasting
• Bold, bright, eye popping color
• Easy to use
• Stays true to color
• Apply to the lighter shade on the left side of the compact for all-over luminous color.
• Use the darker shade on the right side to contour and define the eye for maximum impact.

Based on my piece you can figure it out I use it often. The duo comes in a container with a clear top and a secret compartment for the sponge applicator. The applicator is useless when compared to a proper brush but handy if you are travelling with the compact.
“Mischief” is a very pretty duo for a nice classic smokey look with black and highlight with gold. The colors can be used with other eyeshadow combinations too. The gold is not that shimmery, so its great for a shimmer phobic like me. However, when piled on, also it’s great for a glamorous night time look. It can be applied wet or dry.
I swatched it dry with a light hand:
To sum it up-
Pros of L’Oreal Paris HiP Concentrated Shadow Duo
-Great pigmentation.
-Handy compact.
-Goes on smoothly.
-It can be applied wet or dry.
-Good for someone starting a collection.
Cons of L’Oreal Paris HiP Concentrated Shadow Duo
-Needs a good base for long lasting color.
-Priced higher than NYX eyeshadows.
-Not enough range of colors.
-The black could be more darker.
Conclusion
I am surprised they have still not launched this range in India. This range has won many awards and recommendations. I am sure they will launch this range eventually.
I will recommend this range to anyone but at this price I think NYX eyeshadow are much better with a wide range.

I got them around 6 months back, but at that time they were already introduced and deemed popular in the US.
