No matter what and how expensive stuff I buy from any brand, I have a different connection with MAC. The amount of happiness I get when I buy a MAC product is just inexplicable. It’s similar to like coming home, this connect is what MAC is to m! I have been eyeing the new skin finish highlighters from MAC which are now permanent in range! Yay! And as soon as I got my salary this month, I knew what I had to do. MAC has launched extra dimension skin finish in 4 permanent shades – Double Gleam, Beaming Blush, Soft Frosh, and Show Gold. I picked up the shade “Double Gleam.”

I am telling this from the other extra dimensions products I have.

My Experience with MAC Extra Dimension Skinfinish Double Gleam:
Can MAC ever go wrong with any product? Well, that’s too big a claim! Let me put it another way .. making a range permanent, is itself a proof how good and much requested a product is. The packaging is classic black with transparent plastic on top. It has no mirror or applicator with it. Same as all highlighters, nothing loud or fancy, but cult MAC product packaging. It belongs to “Back2Mac” product range also.
I already have a similar extra dimension highlighter in “Shaft of Gold” (limited edition). It is a perfect golden which I found too much for me to pull off as a highlighter so I use it on my eyes instead.
This time, I bought a little less loud highlighter from this range and that’s “Double Gleam.” If you see the swatches, you would realize that this has beige/yellowish undertones. It is described as ‘silver with a hint of beige’ which is absolutely on point. Shimmer particles are very fine compared to “Soft and Gentle,” which looks chunky compared to this (I still love “Soft and Gentle!).
The texture is very soft, smooth and bendable. The texture is very buttery and not at all chalky. It gives a perfect sheen to the skin. The intensity can be adjusted by the kind of brush used so a dense brush will make the result more intense on face and a less dense blush can sheer out the intensity.
It stays on my face for a good 8 hours and then starts to fade. It can be applied on all the high points of the face. The MAC site however does not restrict the usage to just high points. It says apply to the face using a brush as desired! There is nothing that can be called as a con with this product. If my pocket allows, I may buy more shades from this range!
Pros of MAC Extra Dimension Skinfinish Double Gleam:

- Good quantity.
- Works great if you can pull off golden-based highlights.
- Lasting power of 8 hours.
