MAC Lipstick – Speed Dial
Today I will be reviewing a Lipstick from MAC. It is called Speed Dial. This is my second lipstick from MAC. I had gone to MAC counter to pickup few lipsticks and I ended up getting three. I got Craving (Amplified Crème), Mocha (Satin) and Speed Dial (Crèmesheen).I must say I love them all. I chose safe colors that I knew I would love. I have already reviewed Mac Craving and Mocha has been reviewed by Rati. Read on to see how I feel about this lipstick (Speed Dial)!
I like lipsticks that are moisturizing. I stay away from Matte lipsticks; I don’t like the feel on the lips. I had tried this lipstick on my wrist and not on lips so I was not sure of the finish.
MAC describes this as a “light blue pink” and that is very true it is a blue toned pink lipstick that might not suit every skin tone. It also depends on personal choice and liking. I had a love hate relation with this lipstick I would say that I am not a huge fan of blue toned pink lipsticks. I bought this and I did not try this on my lips. After coming back, tried it on and I was really disappointed, I thought it was not complimenting my face as others pinks do. It gave a very light bluish pink color to my lips that I thought was completely washing off my face. So, I kept it, didn’t know what to do with it but When I tried it again, last month, it looked gorgeous:). I don’t know, maybe, my mind changed or the color got better. :0. But I swear by this lipstick now.
It is a Crèmesheen. It is pigmented and gives medium to full opacity. These lipsticks are not very moisturizing like Amplified crème, but gives a little shine to lips. Again, when I applied this lipstick at home, I did not like the finish as it did not glide on smoothly. I applied it couple of times using a lip balm for smoother application and moisturization but it hampered lipsticks staying power so stopped using it. Again when I tried it last month it worked beautifully and glided on perfectly. I believe texture problem was due to the weather (winters), I felt it to be drying and it did not apply smoothly. In summers it has completely changed as it applies so smoothly and I love it!
Mac provides with high quality lipsticks that no doubt last for a long time and .They can also survive drinks, food and if you remove it using cotton, you would still have the stains of the lipstick on your lips. This is a light color so easy to remove without stains. It has a descent staying power around 4 hours. It does survive meals & drink but it does lighten.
What I like about the MAC lipstick Speed Dial?
- Very Pigmented
- Long staying power
- Smooth application (In summers)
- Yummy scent
- Semi Crème texture
- Nice opaque coverage
- Does not get into fine lines
- Would suit most of the skin tones if not all
What I don’t like about the MAC lipstick Speed Dial?
- Blue tone does not suit everybody.
- No color labeling.
- Little drying.
Would I be repurchasing MAC Lipstick Speed Dial?
Overall, it is a beautiful pink color that I totally adore. This is a permanent color in my makeup collection. I enjoy it in summers better and it looks pretty too.
I would still suggest trying different finishes on lips as it will help you find your favorite finish. If you are comfortable in carrying a little different pink color then it is a must have.
Also from next lipstick review I am planning to do a LOTD. I hope I can, because I too scared . 🙁
