Skin Tone: Medium, NC42, warm undertones
I have been playing with the Modern Twist Kajal Liners for quite some time now and trust me, they are boon for people who prefer long-wearing eye makeup. I have a few shades to share with you all and today I am starting off with the basic black from the range in the shade “Squid.”
A kohl-like liner that’s sultry seductive and a little bit scandalous. The easy-glide formula makes this pencil a one-stroke wonder with a silky soft texture for rimming the sensitive waterline. Its color intensity and extreme depth creates a look with unparalleled impact. The long-wearing waterproof formula locks in your look for hours.
My Experience with MAC Squid Modern Twist Kajal Liner:
The packaging is a twist-up pencil which does not twist back, so you have to be careful about how much you twist up for application. The outer paper carton has all the details about the product. The bottom has a color-coded band which is black in this case, to help find out from the stash. The cap shuts with a click and is hence very much travel-friendly.
The texture is like the velvet-matte lipsticks; smooth and velvety, but does not crumble during application on the lid or on the waterline. It does not irritate my sensitive eyes and glides smoothly on the lids and waterline without tugging or pulling. It is super pigmented and one stroke gives enough color; there is no need to swipe multiple times.
The shade is described as carbon black and I could not agree more on this. It looks wonderful on the waterline as well as on the lid. If you wish to smudge it a bit, you have to do it immediately; once set, it is not going to move a bit.
The velvety texture adds to the beauty of the color and this is new favorite kajal.
Without any base or powder to top off, this stayed on my waterline for more than 6 hours; no fading, no smudging. On the lids, it stays on till you remove with a makeup remover. I am saving it to be used as a kohl on the waterline as very few kohls stay as long and strong on the waterline. Overall, this is a super hit product by MAC yet again!
