Valentine’s Day was really awesome, not for there were huge sales going on and benefited me! 😀 I got some makeup stuff for good deals and today’s lipstick was an impulse buy (blame the sale!). I shopped quite some stuff online, and I wanted to buy lipsticks online since some shades are unavailable in my city. This particular experience was a nightmare, and I swore not to buy lipsticks online!

My Experience with Maybelline Color Show Lipstick in Nutty Cookie:
Packaging: It comes in a black tube, with a color-coded band which is pretty good. There is nothing great about the packaging, and no “wow” factor. The name of the shade is written at the bottom with a color-coded sticker. The cap closes with a satisfying click and ready to be tossed into handbags. So, coming to the worst thing that I faced, I opened the cap of the lipstick only to find the bullet damaged! There was this gooey mess, the top part of the lipstick had stuck to the cap after melting. I opened and found the not-so-nice looking bullet. It was a complete turn off. This does not end here.
Shade: Nutty Cookie is a muddy brown shade. It does not complement any skin tone! This shade does not contain any micro-shimmer and it’s just straight muddy brown. This is a bad shade, and does not suit me at all. After all the mess that I had to handle with, the shade did not do any justice either.
Texture: The texture is very velvety and soft. It glides on the lips without any tug or pull. I recommend exfoliation prior to application, as it tends to accentuate fine lines. As per my story is concerned, I had to apply it with a lip brush which was the only possible way to use it. It did dry out my lips when I removed it, and it is not moisturizing as claimed.
Pigmentation: The shade itself is so bad even though it is intensely pigmented. I also loved how creamy it is, despite the bitter experience. It gives a supple finish which I’m not a big fan of. It does not settle into fine lines and accentuate it. With such pigmentation, I suggest this be kept away from your favorite clothes because the stain is very stubborn. I accidentally got some on my top and it just refuses to go.
Staying Power: It does not survive a meal, and lasts for 2 hours max. It does leave a tint behind, and it needs to be re-applied. The tint comes off only with an oil-based makeup remover.
I really don’t have anything nice to say about this lipstick. I am never gonna use this, and it will go straight to the dustbin since the bullet itself is a pain to look at. I cannot handle all the gooey stuff; forget handling, I can barely look at it! The shade does not do anything good either, and I do not want to been seen wearing this!
