Today’s review will be on a Maybelline lipstick from the “Powder Mattes” range. I had gone crazy and picked up so many Maybelline lipsticks last week! I feel that Maybelline does an amazing job with their lipsticks and they are priced perfectly! So let’s see how this one fared for me!

My Experience with Maybelline The Powder Mattes by Colorsensational Lipstick Up To Date:

This lipstick comes in a frosty matte packaging. I love the packaging but it isn’t color coded. Also, everything is printed on the sticker, so once you tear the covering, you don’t know which range of lipstick it is, but apart from that, the packaging is very convenient and travel friendly.

“Up To Date” is a beautiful pink with mauve undertones. It is slightly on the brighter shade, but it is nonetheless a stunning pink shade. It is quite similar to “Fierce Fuchsia,” but this one is darker and less bolder than Fierce Fuchsia. It is a beautiful pink shade though!

The pigmentation is really awesome. You only need two swipes to get an opaque color. It swipes smoothly on the lips without tugging or pulling. I really like the pigmentation on Maybelline lipsticks. The texture is a bit dry and not as creamy as other lipsticks, but it is comfortable on the lips for a long time.

If you prep your lips with a lip balm, then you will be sorted for most part of the day. It instantly gives you matte finish on the lips and you don’t have to wait for it to settle into a matte finish. It is powder matte just as the name suggests and I love it.

This lipstick stays on my lips for a very long time. It survives lunch and snacks and I pretty much wear it once and don’t touch up throughout the day. It still looks decent enough at the end of the day. This is one more reason why I have been gravitating towards Maybelline lipsticks, as they are low maintenance!
