MUA F4 Powder Brush Review

Hello IMBB readers,

Today’s review is on MUA Powder Brush. For no apparent reason, MUA Powder Brush has been on my wishlist since 2 years, but either it was out of stock or I was somehow unable to get hold of it for various reasons. Finally, I am reviewing it today for IMBB. Let’s see if it was worth the wait and effort.
MUA powder brush

Product Description:
All-purpose for bronzer, blush and face powder. Full and dense for dusting pressed powder and bronzer on face or body with soft synthetic fibres that form a full, rounded shape that glides effortlessly over skin to achieve the perfect finish.  Dip F4 into the powder and swirl. Don’t press hard or gunk up your brush with tons of powder. Tap the brush on the side of the container to shake off excess powder. Brush powder onto face using light pressure. Use a small circular motion for the best possible coverage. Start at the jaw line and work your way in to the nose area. Then move to the chin area and the forehead.  Apply a small amount of powder to the neck area to create a natural, finished look. Don’t forget this step or your face may end up looking like it’s a different shade than your neck, especially if you use a darker shade of powder. Cruelty free, synthetic brushes suitable for all skin types!

My Take on MUA F4 Powder Brush:

MUA Powder Brush arrived carefully packed in a plastic casing, which makes it travel friendly unlike Real Techniques brush boxes which occupies a lot of space in my vanity case. This plastic case can fit into lesser space and keep the brush clean. A brief introduction to the brush can be read on the back side of case.

The overall look of the brush is complete black. The plastic used for the brush handle is of superior quality and the length is precisely calculated. The brush handle is neatly labelled with the necessary details. The metal ferrule is painted in black and holds the bristles strongly. The soft, silky and flexible bristles are synthetic.

The brush has good density but I expected a bit more in terms of shape and density of bristles, assuming it to be a powder brush. It definitely does a good job for dusting overall; yet more bristles would have made the job easier and faster. The bristles don’t waste product, it picks up powder in one stroke with controlled and optimum quantity. Just one design fault that I noticed is that the ferrule is slightly flat (hope you can see it in images); if it was completely round, it would have given a new dimension to the functionality of the brush, but again, the product description states that this is an overall face brush for blush, bronzer and face powder.
Powder brush bristles

This brush is easy to use and wash. It dries surprisingly fast. After drying, the bristles seem like I have just pulled it out from the case for the very first time. There is no detaching of bristles and they retain their original shape and softness with every wash.

Summing up pros and cons:

Pros of MUA F4 Powder Brush:

  • Soft, silky, dense, synthetic bristles.
  • Cruelty free.
  • Comes in a hygienic and travel-friendly packaging.
  • No detaching of bristles.
  • Easy to clean; dries fast with retention of original shape of bristles.

Cons of MUA F4 Powder Brush:

  • A bit more density of bristles and a rounder ferrule would have made it a really good drugstore powder brush.

IMBB Rating:
4.5/5
