Nails Inc. is a professional nail lacquer company that I am new to. I have wanted to try this company for a while, but I was not too big on the packaging. But recently, they revamped it and I’m definitely in love with the new packaging. It’s all modern and cool, so I went ahead and bought some from the “Gel Effect Polish” range. So today, I will be reviewing Nails Inc. in the shade “New Oxford Street,” which is a beautiful deep mauve colour.
Nails Inc. describes “this polish provides a high-shine, super glossy finish without the need of a UV lamp or professional removal process. Gel Effect polish contains the same plumping technology as a salon gel manicure and lets you create the same look at home with ease. Formulated with revolutionary plasticiser technology, Gel Effect polish creates a gloss like you have never experienced before with standard nail polish. The gel polish formulation contains a very high level of solid pigment to create flawless application with no streaking or dragging. The gel formula glides on effortlessly and the extra wide brush ensures easy application.”
Size and Pricing:
The nail polish contains 0.27 fluid ounces or 8 ml of product for $14.00 + tax. It’s definitely a pricier nail polish but the gel effect is pretty cool. Getting it at a salon is definitely more expensive though. And you do not get a lot of product for the price, but who really uses up their nail polishes anyway. Below are some comparisons in size to give you a better idea:
1. Lakme India : 9ml
2. Nyx Girls: 10 ml
3. Maybelline Colorama: 7.5 ml
4. OPI: 15 ml
5. Revlon India: 8ml
6. Revlon USA: 14.7 ml
7. e.l.f: 10 ml
8. Essie: 13.5 ml.
My Take on Nails Inc. Gel Effect Polish in New Oxford Street:
Nails Inc. has changed how I feel about gel finish nail polish. I definitely have a preference for matte nail polish, but I think the gel effect is growing on me. Plus, the colour itself is a gorgeous deep mauve colour. The best thing about this shade is that it’s such a beautiful neutral colour that you can wear to work. It’s like mauvey-brown which makes it warm but not too brown and great for most skin tones. It’s definitely a very unique colour.
I think it looks more brown or purple depending on the light you’re in. I also love how pigmented it is which makes it pretty easy to work with. The brush is not too large, not too small and doesn’t make the polish streaky. Nails Inc.New Oxford Street also has the gorgeous shiny-bubble gel effect. I did two coats to get perfect, opaque coverage. It was not perfect in the first application like most polishes, but the finish was awesome after the second coat.
The drying time was normal, not too long. The wear time is pretty good. I have had it on for about 7 days and no chipping with normal activity, including lots of pool time. It would easily last two weeks with a top coat. In short, I love the colour, I love the finish, and love the lasting power.
Here are things I Love about Nails Inc. Gel Effect Polish in New Oxford Street:
- Super easy gel finish at home.
- The colour payoff is really awesome.
- New Oxford Street is sheer with one coat, but it transforms into a beautiful finish in two coats.
- The drying time is good for a gel nail polish.
- New Oxford Street has an amazing “just perfect” consistency.
- The wear time is awesome – one full week without any chipping.
- New Oxford Street is a beautiful, unique colour that would complement all skin tones.
Things I’m not so much in-love with about Nails Inc. Gel Effect Polish in New Oxford Street:
- It’s slightly pricey, making it more of a splurge.
I love how easy this polish makes it to get the gel effect at home and even though it is a unique colour, it is so wearable making this a solid 4 on 5, losing one star only for the price.
