What does the product say?

The appearance of fine lines and wrinkles is minimized. Skin is left feeling softer and smoother.

What are Night creams?
It’s also difficult to define night cream, especially in the modern sense. It can refer to creamy, pasty or even colorless skin treatments that are worn during the night. Though in the past, women who wanted to reduce aging were the highest population group using night cream, there are now night creams available for people of both genders with oily skin, or combination skin. Younger people may use nighttime creams in a variety of formulations to help reduce breakouts.
The old “standard” night cream was often a product that was heavy on moisturizing ingredients like various oils. These were meant to treat the skin, but they were too heavy to be worn during the day, especially under any kind of makeup. They also tended to be fairly greasy, which probably, especially before the advent of the washing machine, was difficult to remove from bed linens.
Today’s night creams may still have a higher oil content than lighter moisturizers worn during the day, but many of them are formulated so they won’t stain sheets. Since people often have combination skin, with drier skin around the eyes and cheeks, and oilier skin on the nose and forehead, many night creams are made in noncomedogenic formulas so they won’t clog pores. You can also make your own night creams with a variety of kitchen ingredients; there are many online recipes.

Cost: Rs.300 [Indian rupees]
Net wt 2.25 OZ (63g)

My first encounter:
I have always wanted to get a night creams,to get some moisture , although my skin is oily.
Mom “See beta , You don’t need a Night cream , why are you purchasing it?Are you stupid? You’re just 20!!”
Me”Please na :(, everyone on youtube is!!”
Mom “What?”-stares-
Me -stares back-
Night cream is supposed to be used to reduce the ageing process and also for moisturizing .

So I purchased this from a medical store, I guess you can find it anywhere and everywhere. I trust Neutrogena a lot ,although it might be a bit pricey at times! At times? Most of the time 😛

Okay, so I grabbed this product and I bought it home. Rs.300 is sort of fine for the product but obviously on the costlier side.

My first application:
I was obviously excited to use the product. So that day I wanted to sleep early so that I could use the product earlier.I had planned to sleep at 7.30 pm.
Before applying the night cream I washed my face , used the toner, and then used the night cream on my face. You just have to apply it in a normal way, the way you apply other creams. As soon as I applied it, I felt that the cream is going to get absorbed by the skin in seconds.[As it says “LIGHT” night cream] I waited for a minute.Nothing happened.

I was like “Ha??” :O
My skin was greasy for half an hour and it stayed greasy for the rest of the night.
The next morning I woke up with a super oily face.
I mean it “A SUPER OILY FACE”!!!!
As soon I woke up , I rushed and washed my face !
It was disgusting! 😐
I ignored and tried to forget whatever happened 🙁 as i had always trusted Neutrogena. You know how it feels , when someone breaks your TRUST. 😐 haha! Argh! So finally I thought of giving it a second shot. The Following day, I did the same thing,
Guess what?

I know you guessed it right 🙁 The same thing happened. I couldn’t believe it.This product was not worth the price nor was it good enough to be used on my face. It might work for people with super –dry or dry skin. [ I use it as a FOOT cream now ] But people with Combination/Oily skin should definitely stay away from it, Only if you do not want pimples. Do you? Ha?:p

Why should you buy this product?

  • If you have super dry skin or Dry skin.
  • If you’re curious to try new products and waste your money.
  • if you want a Foot cream.

Why should you NOT purchase this product?

  • For all the above reasons mentioned in the article.
  • It made my skin super oily.
  • It says “LIGHT” night cream. But it isn’t LIGHT at all.
  • It makes your skin super-greasy and might even make you break-out.
  • If you have dry skin, it might work for you.It “might”, not sure.

before and after

Before and after

Will I purchase this product again? NO WAY!!!

I have used this for years and I LOVE IT. Went to buy more and picked up jar , it says deep moisture night cream. have not tried it and wondered if it was the same as the light night cream. i AM NOW 85 AND HAVE VERY NICE COMPLEXION.( At least everyone says so. I use the light cream at night and have no trouble with greasy skin. ( Just wondered about this new cream. New!! deep moisture night cream) Sorry to hear so much negatives about it because I think it is great.( the light)

I bought neutrogena light night cream,oil- free moisturizer and daily scrap. I had countable pimples and black spots. The first two weeks my skin okay given it did not do much of a difference , but there off it gave me pimples. I'm still trying to find a better product for my face in order to get rid of the aftermath of neutrogena products. Maybe it works well for others, I don't have an oily skin.

Politely disagree

I have super oily skin and i recently began using this product. While it's true that it doesn't completely get absorbed in the skin as one would expect, given the name, it does penetrate the outer skin layer well enough to give a soft, supple, nourished look in the morning. The trick is to not just apply it on your face like any other cream, You need to spend some time massaging it into your skin for optimal absorption. Also, the circular motion of your fingers on your facial skin is beneficial for blood circulation too. In the morning, the face WILL look greasy! But, once you wash your face with soap/face wash, you can feel the difference! The skin gets clearer noticeably, just after a week of application. I suffer from adult acne and that means my face has lots of acne scars. I can see that the scars are clearing out better after i began using this product.

o good u didnt Cali! Agree with Gia. It makes your skin greasy! and stays so!

i dont quite agree on the non-light part. As its very foamy and is definitely light and not creamy. now, how they managed to create such cream without creaminess, neutrogena knows!

am planning to use it on my feet once my foot creams are over 😀

I juts don’t like Neutrogena, not that I have tried too many of their products but whatever I have tried has failed to impress me. I wouldn’t use this even though I have dry skin.

Hey Gia, I bought this cream b/c it said “light”, but it’s just lying there now; gonna use it as a foot cream (very good idea) b/c it’s too oily for my already-oily skin! They should have testers and not just pile up their products on the shelves without testers.

Moina May 30, 2012 at 11:29 pm

Hi…i found this website really ueful.I also have Combination skin, and i am really confused what cream/moisturiser should i use at night. Please suggest !

veena November 20, 2012 at 6:40 pm

I bought this cream since it said ‘LIGHT’ night cream, & was also relatively less expensive.
But I ended up wasting my money. This cream is the opposite of ‘LIGHT’.
So greasy 🙁 & when i woke up in the morning, my face had turned dark. Even I am using this a foot & hand cream :-P.
So disappointed with NEUTROGENA…
I’m NEVER buying this again!!
