Neutrogena Nourishing Eyeliner, 50 Twilight Blue:Review

How is the weather there?? I am enjoying cool romantic rainy season here.Though am not able to enjoy window shopping & hanging outs but it also feels great to just sit at home and cherish the lovely wedding memories with better half.. 🙂 I love rainy winters as my hubby then works from home the whole season and I get golden chance of watching him enjoying his favorite food and Aadya also loves her daddy cuddling her the very moment she says “daaa daaa daaa daaa”.:) Okay let us move on, I am here to tell you about my new passion-eye liners! Neutrogena proved to be a promising product for me when it comes to skin care regime but let us see cosmetics! Please read on further to know if Neutrogena eyeliner lived up to my expectations or not!!

Cyclopentasiloxane, Hydrogenated Olive Oil Stearyl Esters, Polyethylene, Polybutene, Silica Silylate, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Octyldodecanol, Microcrystalline Wax, Theobroma Grandiflorum Seed Butter, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Tocopherol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Zinc Gluconate, Copper Glucone, Water. May also contain: Iron Oxides, Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Ferric Ferrocyanide, Carmine (1376-30).
What product claims:
Neutrogena Nourishing Eye liner-
• Defines & brightens.
• Precise line to smoky effect.
• Inbuilt Sharpener and smudger.
Packaging:
It comes in blue grey-colored pen with eyeliner at one end & smudger at other end like any other branded eyeliner packaging. It was my first experience of coming across any Neutrogena cosmetics. The best thing is that it has inbuilt sharpener at smudger end.
My experience with Neutrogena Eyeliner :
I have been using kajal since childhood, it creates magic on a dull face! Unfortunately, I could not apply kajal on my daughters eyes (U.S. pediatrician’s strict recommendations) but I’ll encourage her once she completes toddler phase. Now I was tempted to use eyeliners as well and was desperately looking for one the moment I saw faces Canada shades on IMBB. I could not get faces Canada here.. Hence I had to console myself with other brands. Finally, I came across Neutrogena, it was soft & smooth on eyes. I choose Twilight Blue this time which is a shimmering navy blue shade, which looks great on the upper eye lashes But I wonder why it was so difficult to apply on the waterline! I am a beginner in make up as I always confess but I guess eye liners can be applied on upper lashes as well as on water line like kajals right! It smoothly glides on upper lashes but comes any good on water line, hence I had to smear it on lower lash line. I don’t know why it gives such untidy look on lower eye lashes unlike upper ones! It was little disappointing to get such childish look after using Neutrogena.. Coming to its texture, it is ultra soft & smooth. I did not experience any break outs or irritation so far! It stays for as long as 10 hours on eyes. I loved its shimmering nature but somehow it did not work out well for me.. I don’t want to use 2-2 products kajal and then eye liner for definition! Why can’t one single eyeliner serve all purpose!!

Pros of Neutrogena Nourishing Eyeliner, 50 Twilight Blue:
• Beautiful glittering blue shade.
• Soft & smooth texture.
• 10 hours staying power.
• Does not irritate eyes.
• Inbuilt smudger & Sharpener.
Cons of Neutrogena Nourishing Eyeliner, 50 Twilight Blue:
• Forms lumps while creasing on the lower lash line.
• Does not show up on the waterline properly.
• Eye liner material keeps on breaking after every use.
Finally, I would say that am still confused about my purchase this time, either I need to learn art of applying eye liner or I should change this brand. Perhaps I will try other brands as well as I want to try brown & green colors too. I am still searching for workable eyeliner which lives up to my simple expectations!! Can you suggest any brand friends??

You know maybe you should swipe the eyeliner lightly on your lower eyelash and in case it forms lumps, use a Q-tip to remove the extra smudges or particles.
This color looks good. You can use it as an eyeshadow base too since its quite dark.
Yes, many eyeliners dont show up on the waterline. You can try gel eyeliners for that purpose. I have a Lord and Berry eye definer that works very nicely on the waterline.

I am a beginner too and I dont know where I’ll be without IMBB and the tips and tutes. You’ll find such tips everywhere here. As for me, I look out for EOTD posts (esp Rati’s) and stare very hard at all the pics and deduce the techniques! 😀

Many eyeliners are not meant to be worn on the waterline. This one looks like a gorgeous shade but seems glittery… it may not be waterline safe. This reminded me of Avon Glimmerstick eyeliner 🙂

It sure is a gorgeous shade! I didn’t even know this brand did cosmetics too! For a smudge free look, smudge the liner well after applying & set it with some powder of the same shade or translucent if you don’t have that exact shade. Applying teeny tiny amounts, smudging it, then applying again over it, smudging it again, & repeating this till you get desired color intensity helps in giving a long lasting look as opposed to applying a lot at 1 go & hoping it won’t smudge. 🙂 just my 2 cents on how I make a difficult product last, some colors are so gorgeous that we should try every trick available to make them work I feel 😀 & this 1 sure is BEAUTIFUL!

Neetu, u can try this/start by applying small dots of the eyeliner on ur eyelid and then join them to get a proper line 🙂
I like such eyeliners from brands like Faces, Revlon, maybelline, Bourjois , Avon 🙂 all of them r fairly good, and even MAC makes really nice colored eyeliners

I love pencils in twister form. The color looks great on you :).I have seen neutrogena cosmetics in usa, but hardly any stores in India have neutrogena makeup products. 🙁
