Packaging:

These gorgeous goodies come in beautiful semi opaque black packaging with transparent oval cap. The lipstick does not retract completely inside filthy bullet hence it becomes little messy. Other than that, the case is travel friendly although it looks little brittle and needs to be handled with care.

My Experience With NYC Ultra Moist lipwear 319 Violet shine:

Well you all know am in the best phase of shopping lipsticks and gifts for my friends & relatives. My mil is all set to leave for India within a few weeks and we are in a rush to pack her all stuff and shop for our family. Recently we shopped many NYC eye makeup and lip glosses for family and friends (Can’t wait to share them all with you). I hope everyone receiving these goodies will love my mum and off course me for our choice and selection of colors.. 😀 Anyways moving to “violet shine”, it seems to be a pinkish violet shade which gives sheer raspberry juicy tint to my lips. I can also notice slight silver shimmers while rubbing the swatch on my hands and even after rinsing it off from my lips a raspberry sheen with silver glitters is clearly noticeable. It is a pearly shade which may become frosty after sometime but it does not look odd on the lips surprisingly! Violet is my mil’s favorite color and she often picks this color in her sarees, suits and lip colors. But violet never complements my face somehow.. :\ I am also fond of violets but I look slightly pale whenever I wear plum or raspberry shades why God.. 😛 This lipstick is made for my mil. She absolutely rocks it but for fair people it might be a disappointment unless you want a bronzed look. It would suit any age and skin tone preferably medium skin tones I guess, fair skinned gals with yellow undertones might get disheartened.. 😛 Apart from the shade I do not have any other issues with NYC lipsticks, they are a bliss to swipe on bare dry lips with or without lip balm. They won’t leave your lips dried and worn out as long as you wear it on your lips. They do have pretty average staying power as well. But the only fact that they are sheer would be an issue for pigmented lips. Even my lips are slightly pigmented and I can actually notice those dark spots on my lips..  Seems it’s time to invest in good lip care brand, I strongly need best cure for my recently pigmented lips..  Over all I would say violet shine is not a hit for me but not totally a skip either. I would love to keep this in my vanity for occasional use however I won’t repurchase it. I am using it over pinks and mauve to get perfect pinkish violet shade. But I recommend it to all raspberry lovers who love sheer juicy tint with hint of violets on their flawless lips. Just go ahead!

 It is universal shade however fair beauties with yellow undertones might not feel the same
 Attractive packaging at a cheap price

Cons New York Color Ultra Moist Lipwear, 319 Violet Shine

• The shade makes me look pale..
• The clumsy packaging

Well I may ignore the clumsy packaging for the fact that it hardly costs a dollar but this shade is not the best for my skin tone. I would definitely wear violet one day just hoping to get mera wala violet..  I hope this violet shine is your kind of shade. Just go and get it, you won’t regret getting it until unless you are like me.. 😛
