My Experience with NYX High Voltage Lipstick Free Spirit:

The packaging of the lipstick is simple and basic, there is nothing extraordinary about the packaging. The lipstick tube is a simple black and orange-colored plastic tube. The packaging of this range is color-coded and that helps to easily pick up the shade from your makeup stash. The brand’s tagline is printed on the tube in simple white fonts along with other necessary information about the product. The shade name is mentioned at the side of the tube. The tube closes with a transparent plastic cap that shuts very securely making an audible click and ensures that the lipstick will not mess up in the handbag. The lipstick bullet is sleek with a slanted tip and helps to apply the lipstick easily.

“Free Spirit” is a beautiful warm orange shade. I don’t own many orange lipsticks and a few that I own lean more towards coral hues, but this one is a typical orange lipstick. This shade is super flattering on fair to medium tanned skin tones. It is a lovely orange shade. It is definitely very bright and looks even brighter on the lips, but it is definitely wearable and looks lovely on the lips. The lipstick is absolutely free from any shimmer and it sets to a gorgeous creme finish.

It is not too glossy and plumps up the lips. It gives a fuller appearance to lips and makes them look healthy and nourished. This is a perfect summery shade. The formula is amazingly pigmented, which gives semi-opaque coverage in one swipe and color looks even and opaque coverage. The color payoff is just amazing and it hides the pigmentation of my lips nicely. The lipstick does not have any kind of fragrance in it.

The texture of the lipstick is very creamy. It is super soft and smooth in texture. It glides effortlessly on the lips like a dream and does not cause any tugging or pulling. It does not cling to the dry patches of the lips. The formula is lightweight and feels comfortable on the lips. The formula is moisturizing and hydrating. It does not dry out the lips, but is extremely creamy and slippery kind of in terms of texture. Hence, it smudges easily around the corners of the lips. It does not settle into the fine lines of my lips. Being creamy in nature, the lipstick transfers crazily.

The longevity of the lipstick is quite disappointing. It hardly survives 3 hours or so and fades away completely with a full meal. The pro is that the formulation is non-staining and it is very easy to remove with a makeup remover wipe.
