My Experience with NYX Tame & Frame Tinted Brow Pomade in Espresso:
Packaging: The product comes in a square frosted plastic container. This container is quite compact and the cap screws shut so it will not come apart while travelling. There is no brush or spoolie along with the product which may be a con for some people. I prefer to use the Zoeva 317 Wing Liner brush with this when compared to the slightly thicker Real Techniques Brow brush, but to each their own.
Shades: This product is available in 6 shades. I bought the shade Espresso which is the 5th darkest colour in the range. Also keep in mind that this is not a cool-toned shade like others in the range. I would recommend the shade Chocolate if you are NC40 and lighter and Espresso for above NC40.
Consistency/pigmentation: The pigmentation of this product is absolutely insane. It is very very pigmented and creamy and smooth. It does not ball up on my brush. Even though it is creamy, there is a dryness to it. It is a little difficult to explain this bit but just know that it is an absolutely perfect consistency. It is so easy to work with but I strongly recommend that if you are a beginner or are in a hurry, you work off the product after putting it on the back of your hand. It is an absolute delight for me to use this product, because you do not need to set brows with a separate gel or wax. This can be a one and done product, provided you are careful with the amount of product on the brush. It starts to set within a minute and does not feel like anything. Some products can feel tacky or uncomfortable while setting, but this one does not feel anything at all.
I have brows that are in between bushy and absolutely thin. What I am looking for is a product that only fills in my sparse areas. I like to keep that same amount of thickness that the other, fuller parts of my brows have, that is, I don’t want Instagram brows ;P For people who have very thin and sparse brows, I think this is perfect because it can get you that thickness and fullness very quickly and easily. A lot of people say this is a very affordable dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Pomade and that the NYX Micro Brow Pencil is a dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz Pencil.
How I like to use it: I dip my brush in the product once and like to put the product at the back of my hand. That way, I don’t load my brush with too much product. I like to put the most amount of pomade in the arch so that way, there is only minimal amount on the brush; I take that to either side and fill out those areas. I then run the spoolie through the brows to distribute the pigment evenly.
Lasting power: The lasting power on this is pretty incredible. It lasts a good 5-8 hours on me. It also sets waterproof, which is a bonus.
Pros of NYX Tame & Frame Tinted Brow Pomade in Espresso:
• Very affordable.
• Very pigmented.
• Creamy and smooth.
• Extremely easy to work with.
• Works for everyone.
• Wide variety of shades.
Cons of NYX Tame & Frame Tinted Brow Pomade in Espresso:
• Since it is very pigmented, you have to be careful not to load up brush with too much product.
• Need to use a separate brow brush and spoolie.
IMBB Rating: 5/5
Would I Recommend NYX Tame & Frame Tinted Brow Pomade in Espresso?
I recommend it to beginners, people with thin or thick brows; basically everyone will enjoy using it. This is an absolute steal for the price. NYX certainly knows its way around brow products!
