So recently, my maasi came from US to visit us and got me and my mom lots of makeup and skin care goodies! Among them was this particular product that caught my eye – it’s the firming butter from Palmer’s. I have never used any Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula products. Although this was for my mom, I borrowed it for review and asked her about the details and also her opinion on this one. Read on to know if this one fared or not!
With Shea Butter, Collagen, Elastin or Vitamin E:
- Plus Q10.
- Firms and tones.
- Paraben and phthalate free.
- Dermatologist tested.
This unique formula is specifically designed to firm, tighten and tone your skin anytime, even after weight loss. The unique combination of Coco Butter, Collagen, Elastin and Shea Butter helps support skin elasticity and texture. In addition, Ginseng and Vitamin E help soften and rejuvenate skin. Co Enzyme Q10 is an antioxidant that helps smooth and revitalize skin.
6 dollars, approximately INR 519.
My Experience with Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Firming Butter:
The bottle seems quite sturdy. However, I cannot assure you that it is travel friendly because the pump action is not very secure. I carried it in my bag the other day and there was some leakage of the product. The packaging is quite simple with product details mentioned and a pump to dispose the product. The mechanism of the pump is very convenient to use and saves a lot of time when you are in a hurry.
The texture of the butter is very thick; however, it gets absorbed quite quickly into the skin without feeling sticky or greasy. Let us now come to the part which I absolutely detest, the smell. Oh God, I hate it! It is too sweet, buttery and chocolate like. Nothing close to the traditional cocoa butter fragrance and that’s a con. So, for all those sensitive noses out there, skip this one. It might leave you feeling nauseated. I remember when I applied it for the first time, I was in absolute disgust with the smell.
Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula, Firming Butter, combines a unique blend of natural ingredients. Though it can be used at any time, this product may be especially helpful after pregnancy or weight loss, when skin has yet to catch up with your shrinking body. This formula combines ingredients like collagen, shea butter, vitamin E, and elastin in addition to cocoa butter. It also includes ginseng and coenzyme Q10.
However, I did not see any visible results on my skin, in terms of reduction of stretch marks. My mom however did like the firming action of the lotion. The moisturizing properties of this lotion are absolutely fantastic though. Your skin starts to feel soft and supple after a few months usage.
In terms of firming the body and moisturizing it, I believe it does a good job. It doesn’t do much for the stretch marks however.
Pros of Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Firming Butter:
- Firms and tones up the skin with regular use over the months.
- Gets absorbed into the skin quickly.
Cons of Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Firming Butter:
- I hate the smell!
- Not travel friendly.
Would I Recommend Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Firming Butter?
If you can handle the over-the-top sweet smell and thickness of this lotion, then go for it! I would not purchase it though.
