Panasonic 2 in 1 Multi-Styling Straightener Review
Recently, I have got a haircut and then on, I have been obsessed with my hair. Its not that I have awesome hair, but I dream to have them, so I keep using different products and styling tools to get nice looking hair. Like most of the girls who have naturally curly and wavy hair, who fancy to get straight and silky hair, I too flat iron my hair now and then. From around 5 years, I was using a straightener from Nova, which is a cheap and basic straightener (will do a full review soon), but some months ago, I got the Panasonic 2 in 1 multi-styling straightener as a gift, and as expected from husband, he wondered why I needed two straighteners and that I should give away one to someone. My sister already has one and my SIL has silky straight hair, so I decided to keep it with me only (happy me :P).
- Photo-ceramic-coated iron plate prevents dyeing dilution.
- 1 attachment (medium curl) creates 1 kind of curly hair and 1 kind of straight hair.
- Easy-to-change attachment.
- 5-level temperature setting (150-200°C) with LED display.
- Quick heating device.
- 60-minute auto shut-off device.
- AC 100~240V (universal voltage).
My Experience with Panasonic 2 in 1 Multi-Styling Straightener:
I have thick curly, frizzy, unruly hair, and people who read my reviews on IMBB already know about it. So, I do iron my hair very frequently to make them manageable. I have read that heat styling causes damage to hair and can also cause discoloration. When I saw that Panasonic 2 in 1 multi-styling straightener claims to have photo ceramic coating to protect hair discoloration, I was super happy; however, to see the results, I have to wait, because whatever damage I have already will take some time to grow and go 😛 (I iron my bangs more regularly and they are 2 shades lighter than the rest of my hair). It also claims to reduce the hair moisture loss by 25% in comparison to other straighteners, and I feel this claim is right because without even using a hair spray, with this straightener, my hair feels more softer after ironing than it used to be with the Nova straightener.
So, coming to the straightener, it comes with 5 heat settings and as described in the booklet, for curly hair 4 or 5 is the temperature range. It is very lightweight which makes the ironing process easy. It glides smoothly in the hair, 3-4 strokes on one section (3-4 inch wide, I am a lazy girl) makes the hair sleek and straight. It also has an auto shutdown feature which is very good for people who forget switching off appliances 😛 and the universal voltage thing is like icing on the cake, as mostly the grooming appliances (shaver/dryer/ epilator, etc.) come with only one voltage which is of the country where its made. Due to this, I face a lot of problem with my Conair rotating hair styler, so this is an added benefit for frequent flyers 😛
Coming to its multi-styling function, this straightener is a 2 in 1 styler (there are 6 in 1 and 4 in 1 stylers also available) – one style being the sleek straight hair and the second one is medium curl styling. The straightener comes with an attachment which can be easily attached on the lower plate of the straightener and then it can be used as a curler too. I generally don’t use this feature as I have naturally curly hair but for wavy hair girls, it will be more useful as they can wear their hair in two styles using the same styler.
Pros of Panasonic 2 in 1 Multi-Styling Straightener:
- 2 in 1 styler, gives straight as well as medium curls.
- Photo ceramic-coated iron plate, reduces discoloration of hair.
- Reduces dryness caused by ironing the hair.
- Works with universal voltage (100 to 240 volts), so no need to carry converter along with you when you are traveling to another country.
- 5 heat settings.
- Automatic power off.
