GHD Gold Classic Styler Hair Straightener Review

Hey Girls,

Hope you are doing well. Today, I am here to review GHD Classic (Gold Series).

GHD Gold Classic Styler Hair Straightener Review

A true classic isn’t defined by time or fashion. It stands alone; confident and brave. It’s made of truth, beauty and style. The perfect red lip. The little black dress. The battered blue jeans. The ghd gold classic styler. “Fashion fades, only style remains the same.” Coco Chanel.

$  69 (AUD), might be cheaper in USA.

Product Features:

  • Professional Finish.
  • Smoother plates,
  • Cooler, lighter body.
  • Ceramic heaters and contoured plates.
  • Sleep mode.

I got this as a birthday gift last year.  GHD straighteners come in various sizes and styles, but I chose the gold classic styler.

GHD Gold is available in three sizes –mini, classic and max. I got classic one.

The price is same for all three sizes, so you can choose as per your needs. I have fine medium length hair, so I got the classic one which works wonderfully.  It comes in a classy black and golden box as you can see in the pictures. It includes a plate guard and a mini look book.

The packaging is really nice and you can keep the original box to store the straightener or if you are travelling, you can just put plate guard on the ceramic plates which helps to keep them closed and safe.

Its very light weight and easy to use.  This straightener heats up very quickly, just in 30 seconds, and its ready to use. Once you plug it in, you have a button with the GHD logo on it and it will light up. After 30 seconds, you will hear a beep and its ready to use, so quick. It heats up to 230 degrees approximately, but you can’t change the heat settings as its automatic.  You need to be very careful with the plates as it gets really hot (I burnt myself the very first day I got it!). Also, even if you forgot to turn it off, then relax, it will turn itself off automatically after 30 minutes of inactivity.

You can style your as you want. It can also be used to curl the hair.  I created curls as well as straightened my hair to share the picture with you guys.

This is the straightened part.

To create a curl, I just rolled up a section of hair around GHD and slided it downwards.

A beautiful curl is created.

Curled up hair on the left and straightened hair on the right.

Summing up the pros and cons:

Pros of GHD Gold Classic Styler Hair Straightener:

  • Heats up really quick.
  • Provides excellent finish.
  • Can be used for curling hair as well.
  • Results are very long lasting.
  • Turns off automatically.
  • Lightweight.

Cons of GHD Gold Classic Styler Hair Straightener:

  • Pricey.
  • You can’t adjust the heat level.

Overall, I think this is the best straightener available and I consider it as a great investment.
