Hello Beautiful Ladies,
The product I am reviewing today is the Rene Furterer Karité Intense Nourishing Mask. This mask is intended to condition and repair very dry, damaged hair. I was introduced to this brand by my Skin Care professor and decided to check it out. I have since then tried several products from the brand and have not regretted it. Rene Furterer is a French Pharmacy hair care brand that uses organic ingredients to make their products.
This rich, deep conditioning mask nourishes and repairs very dry, damaged hair. In-depth restructuring reveals healthier, softer and more manageable hair.
Karité butter (Shea): Rich in EFA (essential fatty acids), nutrition and restructuring, natural UV filter
Quince pectin: Smoothing
Cimentrio® (complex of phytosterols, ceramides& essential fatty acids): Rebuilds the structure of the keratin
€ 27 for 200 ml
The product comes in a large 200ml, light green jar. Inside is a thick yellow cream that smells like citrus flavored butter.
My Experience with Rene Furterer Karité Intense Nourishing Mask:
I have very thick, medium length dark hair that I have lightened at the ends. My hair is dry (especially the ends) and frizz-prone. About eight months ago, I shifted to France and had some real management issues with my hair. Back in my previous location, the frizz wasn’t as much as it is now. I guess weather change does that. So you can see why my hair NEEDS masks.
I use the product after shampooing my hair; apply it from mid-length to the ends and let it absorb for about 15 minutes. Then, wash it off. The product nourished my hair, and softened it immensely. The transition from dry and frizzy to soft and manageable hair can be felt easily. I feel the product is very strong and its best to use it once in two weeks or even once a month. Something else I noticed after applying this product is that it coated my hair. My strands felt thicker. It didn’t feel heavy; just thicker, stronger and protected.
I once made the mistake of absent-mindedly applying the mask to the hair near my scalp. The next two days were the oiliest hair days I’ve had. So, people with oily scalps – this product is strictly not for you.
Often, I hear that people prefer not to buy scented products because it feels artificial. Rene Furterer products are made only with natural ingredients. And the smell feels natural too. The butter meets citrus smell is very pleasing.
Some may feel that the Rene Furterer Karité Intense Nourishing Mask is a bit expensive, for a hair product. But, I feel the price is justified because of the results I obtain. Also, the 200 ml jar contains enough product to last you for about 6 months.
Pros of Rene Furterer Karité Intense Nourishing Mask:
- Very effective.
- Lasts for a very long time.
- Contains organic ingredients and preservatives for storing purposes.
- Appealing buttery, citrusy smell.
Cons of Rene Furterer Karité Intense Nourishing Mask:
- Unsuitable for people with oily scalp.
4.9/5. Having used this mask for about two months, I can finally say I found my Holy Grail Hair Mask. Karité Intense Hair Mask is so perfect; I do not have enough words to describe it. I do not remember being so content with a hair product before. I almost want to give it a 5. But, I sincerely feel that there’s always space for improvement.
Would I repurchase Rene Furterer Karité Intense Nourishing Mask?
Yes, most definitely. It makes my hair feel so good. Why would I not repurchase? If your hair is like mine; dry, frizzy, damaged and in need of some serious nourishment, then you need this mask in your life.
