Hi Everyone, It’s been so long since I last reviewed any product. Today, I finally made up my mind to review one of the best bold red lipsticks that I have ever seen.
My sister got married in November and I wanted to give her the “perfect red” lip color. Believe me, I saw so many brands (not MAC though) and I picked up a red lipstick from Lakme, I suppose number 352. But I came back and tried it on my lips. It bled out of my lips so bad that I decided to buy another red for my sister. Many other brands like Colorbar, Chambor, etc., had maroonish kind of reds, but not the colour that I had in mind. Finally, I went to a Revlon counter and saw the “Colorburst” range. The packaging and all was “love at first sight.” I finally bought it and tried it against the Lakme one. The colour was almost similar, Lakme one was a bit more orangey than this one, but there was no noticeable difference.
So, I gifted my sister this one and it has been her and her hubby’s favourite ever since. It is true to its name, “True Red.”
The color is kind of a Barbie red, like the toy lipstick ones.
- Instant burst of rich, true color with a featherlight feel.
- Elasticolor™ technology provides immediate color release and hugs lips with a burst of weightless color that feels like a second skin.
- Available in 20 gorgeous shades, including 5 new shades!
Packaging is a black quilted case as most of you are familiar by now. Its very classy and sturdy, does not open in the bag.
The picture shown below is taken in the room’s lighting. Sorry, I am writing this review at night, so clicked all the pictures in the room itself.
I cannot express how beautiful this colour is, so gorgeous, it is the perfect red. It would also suit almost all the complexions. If your wearing muted eyes and winged eyeliner, the lip color goes perfectly with it. I just love it. Here are some more pictures of the swatches and me wearing it.
The above picture is without flash. See how wonderful this colour is. Its not orange, not maroon, just red and that too a bright red, not a dull one.
Here is a picture in flash light.
It looks so bright and would look the perfect bright red. Here are some lip swatches and I am also doing my first lip swatch, yay!
The lip color lasts around 2 to 3 hours. It does transfer because I think that this range is more about the colour rather than the staying power. If one eats while wearing it, then the lipstick fades away from the centre, so it does need touch ups. The lipstick is creamy and goes on smoothly. Although, the top is a bit weird and makes it difficult to get the perfect lined lips, but I think when one wants to pull off red, one needs to use a lip liner and a brush to get that perfect look. But that’s not even an issue if you get such a gorgeous shade. Since I think I have said so much about the color and how beautiful it is, its time to move on to the pros and cons.
Pros of Revlon Colorburst Lipstick – True Red:

- Very creamy.
- Lasts around 2 to 3 hours.
- Stays comfortable.
- Not heavy as claimed by Revlon.
- Does not dry the lips.
Cons of Revlon Colorburst Lipstick – True Red:
- A bit pricey.
Would I Repurchase Revlon Colorburst Lipstick – True Red?
I still have that Lakme one left, will try to wear it with a liner. After it finishes too, yes definitely, I will get this one.
This is my very first FOTD. I just put on winged liner, don’t know if it is visible in this picture or not.
