Hair type: Moderately thick and long with dry and split ends
Scalp type: Oily and dandruff prone
Today’s review is all about a moisturising shampoo that I got a few weeks ago. Previously, I was using Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh Shampoo and, I was quite happy with the product. After shifting to Mumbai, my hair became prone to breakage and dry hair ends, which further lead to split ends. Somewhere during the first week of march, when my little sister came home during her vacation, she advised me to use this shampoo to treat my dry, frayed and split ends. So, I decided to give this a try and bought a conditioner also. Read on to know how Schwarzkopf Gliss Hair Repair Ultimate Repair Shampoo fared for me.

My Experience with Schwarzkopf Gliss Hair Repair Ultimate Repair Shampoo :
Packaging: Schwarzkopf Gliss Ultimate Repair Shampoo comes housed in an opaque, black coloured bottle with a flip top cap. The shampoo bottle is quite sturdy, and the cap shuts tightly with a click, ensuring no spillage. The curved shape of the bottle makes it look big but, it is absolutely travel-friendly. Till now, I had no issues with the packaging.
Texture and fragrance: The consistency of the shampoo is gel-like and is more on the runnier side. However, the gel looks shimmery but doesn’t look shimmery while application. The shampoo has a sweet and refreshing fragrance of cocoa. The fragrance is completely divine, especially when you come back from the gym with your hair drenched in the sweat and are going to take a shower. After washing my hair, it feels refreshing as the fragrance of cocoa lingers till the hair is wet.
Initially, I used this shampoo twice a week. The reason for using it twice a week is that at first, I was quite scared to use a moisturising shampoo for my oily scalp. But, over the time, this shampoo never over-moisturised my scalp. It was quite impressive as I never experienced top flat or an urge to wash my hair the next day. Although, between two washes, my hair from mid-length to tips became a little drier, but not as they were before using the shampoo. So, I started using this more frequently. And now, I use this shampoo every alternate day, usually in the evening, when I come back from the gym.
I need two coin-sized amount of the shampoo for my moderately thick and long hair. Since it is lightweight, it lathers pretty well and rinses off easily without leaving any residue behind. Post washing, my hair feels a little dry and tacky, probably because of the presence of SLS in it. So, a conditioner is very necessary for me. I experienced a very minimal hair fall while washing the hair, but not something to consider as a drawback. I have used this shampoo without conditioner only once, and it didn’t do any good to my hair, but, with conditioner it does.
The shampoo makes my hair manageable and is easy to comb but feels lesser soft. The results of this shampoo are totally dramatic and a huge surprise for me as well. After using this shampoo for so long, it has made my hair softer and manageable. With the use of previous shampoo and conditioner, I have to comb through my hair many a times to detangle them, but after using this shampoo, only a single stroke with my comb or brush through the hair passes very easily, that too, without any pulling or breakage of hair. Though it moisturises the dry and frayed ends and makes them less brittle but, I can’t say if it treats split ends. However, it has reduced the occurrence of split ends to a great extent.
Overall, I love this shampoo as no other shampoo gave me such dramatic results. It truly moisturises my hair and adds shine to them, but does not over moisturise my scalp, which is a huge plus for someone who has an oily scalp like me. The combing process was so hectic for me before, but now, the shampoo has made the combing process easier. In short, Schwarzkopf Gliss Ultimate Repair Shampoo lives up to all its claims. However, my scalp is prone to dandruff, so I can’t stick with this shampoo for a longer time.
