It had been eons since I have written a review or an article here on IMBB, thanks to the awful work-life balance situation I have been facing for the past few months. I should thank Neha for motivating me. I felt it was high time I crawl out of hibernation and pen down my thoughts on the good and bad experiences I have had with products in recent times. It goes without saying that I was still following every article written on IMBB on an everyday basis, I just cannot go to bed without my daily dose.
I was on the lookout for a good under eye cream after my previous one from Forest essentials expired. Yes it expired. I find it very annoying when products costing a bomb have a mere shelf life of 3 months. I was only a little more than half way through it and it started stinging my eye. Anyway, I swore to never spend my money on products with a small expiry date anymore. After doing some research online I decided to get the Sebamed eye cream due to the extremely pleasant experience I have had with this brand in the past. Let’s see if it floated my boat.
Averaging 32% reduction in appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in 28 days. Co-enzyme Q10 production in the skin decreases noticeably from the age of 30. Replenishing this essential catalyst activates cells’ natural energy metabolism for more youthful skin function. Naturally protects the elasticity of the very delicate skin of the eye area. Phytopeptides combined with mucopolysaccharides provide intensive moisture. The valuable, natural lipid resources of shea butter, avocado and almond oils smooth the skin. Natural bisabolol soothes irritation in this highly sensitive area. The physiological pH value of 5.5 safeguards the natural barrier function of the skin.
It retails at INR 800 for a 15 ml tube.
My experience with Sebamed Q10 Lifting Eye Cream:
I spend a good 8-9 hours in front of my computer in a day and the rest staring at my phone while I am awake. It was inevitable that my eyes get tired and do not look as fresh as I want them to look. I have never been a victim to dark circles in the past even when I was hardly getting any sleep during my MBA days. I do have an occasional under eye vein peeping situation when I haven’t had enough sleep but nothing major. But off late I noticed that the constant exposure to electronic gadget screens was taking a toll on my eyes and I was getting mild dark circles and fine lines.
While the previous eye cream from Forest Essentials did a decent job at keeping dark circles at bay and making my under eye area generally look better, I think this one surpassed that. Well, even though I like the idea of using natural products, from my personal experience I feel that there are so many brilliant products from other brands which may not be as natural but are very well researched and deliver good results.
The texture of this eye cream is extremely light, it is of a thin gel-crème consistency which spreads easily and gets absorbed in no time. I personally use it only at night time as I prefer an under eye gel for day time but I think this can be easily worn during day time as well. It does not have any specific fragrance which I like since I try to stay away from skin care products with fragrance or any unnecessary additives.
Coming to how it fared, I must say I love this under eye cream. I have only been using it for a week now and it really works! It makes my under eye area look so much healthier and plumper which means I have bid good bye to under eye veins, dark shadows, fine lines and puffy eyes for good. It has phyto-peptides which is a scientifically proven ingredient for anti-ageing and it seems to work like magic for my under eyes. Hyaluronic acid and lipids also form a part of the ingredients list and we are all aware of their benefits in providing hydration to skin. Also I must add that it has never broken me out. Now this may be unusual for many people but some eye creams I have used in the past have just been a tad too rich for my under eye area and caused breakouts. This one is just right, it manages to hydrate the under eye area without making it greasy or uncomfortable. It also does not sting or cause any kind of irritation to my eyes. I am immensely happy that I found this product and I feel that I have finally found my HG eye cream after having tried tons of high and low end products.
Pros of Sebamed Q10 Lifting Eye Cream:
- First and foremost, it does the job! Yes finally an eye cream which delivers what it promises.
- Lightweight and pleasant to use. Gets easily absorbed and does not make under eye skin breakout (if you have been a victim of that you would understand).
- Fragrance free.
- Contains a ton of good ingredients like phyto-peptides, hyaluronic acid, lipids, Q10 enzyme, etc.
- Starts to show results in merely a week of usage.
- I personally feel that it is quite affordable for an eye cream. Most of them are priced higher than this.
- A little goes a long way with this product.
- It is designed to restore the skin to its natural pH level (of 5.5) like all other Sebamed products which means it wards off unwanted bacteria.
Cons of Sebamed Q10 Lifting Eye Cream:
- I really can think of any but maybe some would find price as a barrier. But it is also true that you get what you pay for.
- Availability maybe. I find Sebamed products only at pharmacies and online stores.
4.8/5 (deducted 0.2 only due to the above cons)
Will I repurchase Sebamed Anti-Ageing Q10 Lifting Eye Cream?
Yes! As I mentioned earlier it has easily become my HG eye cream. I am definitely going to re-purchase it and recommend anyone looking out for a good eye cream to give this a try.
