Sephora Collection Kiss Me Lip Balm in Cotton Candy Review

I have waited long to write this review. I had purchased 4 Kiss me lip balms from Sephora very long back and when I switched to lipsticks, I hardly use them. This is my least favorite. I wanted a light pink tint on my lipstick and I found this lip balm. So here you go:

My Experience with Sephora Collection Kiss Me Lip Balm in Cotton Candy:

These lip balms were the first costliest lip balms I ever bought and never stopped. The main reason I picked up this product is because of the name. I love Cotton Candy and when the lady at the counter applied the color all I could think of was the taste and I picked it up, I guess I was hungry!

The packaging is cute and egg shaped. It is black plastic material made with a transparent cap for the color. The plastic cap might break so you have to be careful and due to its transparent texture, if it falls down it is hard to find. The screw cap is tight and there is no chance of unscrewing when you put it in your bags. Even though the packaging is travel friendly, due to its bulky texture you cannot place in your sleek purse or pocket for sudden fixes. So not very handy.The color in the first look is a light glossy pink similar to the cotton candy sugar. But when applied on the lip with a single swipe it is glossy and with very light pink hue or almost no color. You need to apply at least 3-4 swatches to get the pink color. The lip balm glides smoothly and easy to apply. However as the product loses the top dome shape, it makes it a little difficult to apply directly as it can get all over your lips and you would need a brush. The color is not suitable for pigmented lips. It doesn’t cover the pigmentation so it might not be suitable for dark lips. The product has a tendency to melt and thus you can find it all over the creases of the caps as the temperature soars high.

It melted once when I placed it in the pockets of my flared pants. I have a wheatish complexion and the product didn’t suit me well. It was good on my fair skinned sister so I believe that the product suits best for fair skinned beauties. Coming to the moisturization which is the most important quality in a lip balm, the lip balm provided moisturization for good 3 hours and I needed a reapplication later. With a tea or coffee, it reduced to mere 1 hour and the color transferred everywhere.
