Today’s review is about my recent purchase from Smashbox, which has entered the Indian market this year. This foundation could be your next favourite if you have oily skin. Packaging:
It arrives in a usual glass packaging with a pump (Aaahh, such a relief!). A pump is missing in MAC Studio Fix Foundation. The pump dispenses the perfect amount of foundation, according to how hard you press the pump.
Texture:
The texture is very light and easy to blend. I would say I texture is very similar to Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation‘s texture – neither too heavy nor too runny. It easily survives the hot and humid climate. If you sweat a lot during summers, this one is perfect for you. It has a mild fragrance that reminds me of MAC Studio Fix Foundation.
My Experience with Smashbox Studio Skin 15 Hour Wear Hydrating Foundation:
This is my new favourite product! I apply the product on top of Clinique Universal Primer using a Beauty Blender. It provides medium to full coverage and sets very well without caking and settling into any fine lines or creases.
It helps in covering any pigmentation marks or any other unevenness on the skin but doesn’t help much in covering dark circles. This foundation definitely stays for a long period of time. I once applied it in the morning and it didn’t wear off until I slept at night.The consistency is lightweight and feels very hydrating on my skin. The problem was I couldn’t find the right shade for my complexion as Sephora India offers just 5-7 shades of this foundation!
I went to a store and had it tested. Shade 2.1 looked kind of okay, but with different types of light, I looked like I had a mask on. It’s a bit too light for me, so I mix it with my Mac Face and Body Foundation which again is a little dark for me. Smashbox 15 Hour Hydrating Foundation is completely matte and adding a few drops of Mac Face and Body Foundation makes my face quite glowy. So minor concealing with this foundation gives an overall great effect on the face.
This foundation gives the most natural finish, without fading or bleeding. Even after 12 hours, my foundation looks fresh. My blush and highlighter too are still there with barely any fading.
