Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Intensive Daily Moisturizer Review

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Intensive Daily Moisturizer

Hi Beauties,

. Legends say that it was first created in 1930 by Elizabeth Arden to soothe the skin of her thoroughbred horses’ legs. This was the original Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant, which became an instant and overwhelming success. What made it so effective was a combination of petrolatum, a skin-soothing beta-hydroxy in one of its first cosmetic uses, and vitamin E.

Since then, the Eight hour cream formula has been used in many different versions, and each and every one of them has been an instant success. The eight hour cream is available in Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant (Original and Fragrance-free versions), Intensive Daily Moisturiser for Face SPF15, Intensive Moisturising Body Treatment, Intensive Moisturising Hand Treatment, Lip Protectant Stick SPF 15(Transparent and Tinted versions) and Sun Defence for Face SPF50. Today, I am reviewing the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream: Intensive Moisturiser for Face SPF15.

About the product:

This daily hydrating cream leaves skin feeling soft, smooth and moisturised for up to 8 hours. Formulated with the perfect blend and aroma of classic Eight Hour® Cream, it even protects skin from the effects of extreme weather and climate changes while SPF 15 shields skin from the harmful effects of the sun.
Suitable for all skin types.

My Experience with Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Intensive Daily Moisturizer

The product comes in the characteristic white color tube packaging, enclosed inside a box with a list of instructions pamphlet also inserted. The tube is covered with a white color flip cap. This ensures that the product remains hygienic throughout its use. Also, the packaging is sturdy, and extremely travel friendly.

The product is a very thick cream, white in color, with an extremely pleasant and fresh citrusy smell. When I first saw the product, my heart literally sank. I thought that such a thick product is bound to be heavy and greasy. But I was so wrong!!!!

I have applied this during extreme humid summers as well as cold, frigid winters. And I am amazed and pleased to say that this product works well under all weather conditions, through-out the year, for all skin types. A very tiny amount is needed even on my dry skin. On application, it does not feel heavy or sticky at all. It does not make my skin oily or dewy or glowy, neither does it give a matte finish to skin. My skin looks and feels very natural. It is very light and sinks right in; but I can still feel that my skin can breathe. It moisturises and softens my skin extremely well.

This is my go-to day time moisturiser when I am at home since it has SPF of only 15. Despite the SPF, it does not give whitish cast on flash photography. It does not melt or feel sticky even if I go out in the sun. It is suitable for both dry and oily skin types. It makes an excellent base for makeup also.Just like the original Eight Hour Cream, this one is also good for dry, chapped lips (though not for extremely dry lips). One tube lasts me a long time (since I use it only when I am at home during day time, also an extremely small amount of product is needed, even in winters). It has never broken me out.  This product has been recommended by International Skin Cancer Foundation.
