This review will be on the Stila Eyes are the Window Eyeshadow Palette. There are four variants available in this range – Mind, Body, Soul and Spirit. This review is on the variant “Mind.” It’s a luxurious palette with 12 eye shadows, curated to illuminate the wearer’s inner beauty.

My Experience with Stila Eyes Are The Window Shadow Palette – Mind:

Packaging: This eyeshadow palette comes in a gorgeous mirror finish case with a magnetic closure and a good sized mirror.

Apart from the fact that the case attracts a whole lot of finger prints, it is quite elegant and travel friendly. It also comes with a very helpful, well-illustrated guide book.

Texture: All the eye shadows in this palette are very smooth to touch. They are not as creamy and soft as the Lorac pro shadows. These shadows are powdery, but they are not chalky, and do not generate tons of fallout. They perform best topped over a primer rather than on their own. They are easy to blend, but it is best to under blend these shadows. They can get muddy quite easily if you blend them too much.

Pigmentation and Shades: The “Mind” palette is an all-matte palette. It has a good mix of both warm colors and cool tones. Pigmentation varies according to each shade, but overall, the lighter shades have the least pigmentation while the darker shades have stronger pigmentation. Some colors are exceptional than others, namely the shade “Perception” is outstanding. The top 2 rows have mostly cool tones.

Brilliance – A stark white shade. Good brow bone shade. Feels a bit chalky.
Instinct- A cool-toned grey. Good pigmentation, buildable. Great crease shade for cool-toned looks.
Reason- A soft black. Good pigmentation, versatile shade to smoke out kohl or lower lash line.

Row 2:

Imagination – A soft pale pink. Poor pigmentation and feels a bit chalky. Makes a good highlight for brow bone.
Observation – a taupe, greyish brown shade. A great transition shade, has good pigmentation.
Thinker – A deep brown with an earthy reddish/burgundy undertone. Good pigmentation and can be a great outer V or crease color.

Row 3:

Genius- A soft flesh tones beige. A great shadow to set primer with or diffuse harsh edges, has buildable pigmentation.
Wit – A soft warm tone brown. Great color to add in or complement any warm-toned eye look. Makes a great transition shade or blending shade.
Creativity- A matte dark chocolate brown. A great outer V shade or can be used to create soft smokey eyes by applying all over the lid.

Row 4:

Understanding – A dusty pink shade. A shade or two deeper than “Genius” above it. A great color to use for “no makeup” makeup eye look. Also makes a good transition color or to softer harsh lines.
Perception – A warm sunset reddish orange. Oh, how I love this shade! Best shade quality and color in this whole palette.
Intellect: A warm-toned earthy dusty mauve brown, my next favorite from this palette. This makes an excellent crease or outer V shade. Can also be used to create smokey eyes.

Staying Power:

These shadows work best over a primer and that would improve the staying power too. I did not notice any creasing when I wore this.

Overall, the shade selection in this palette reminds me a lot about “Stila In the Know” palette. Both palettes are quite similar, but not identical and if you have one, you need not own the other one, unless you are an avid collector of palettes like me. I don’t think these Stila shadows are best out of the best eyeshadows out there, but they do feel to be of good quality and are easy to use; plus the shade selection in this palette is universally flattering and will make this an excellent complementing palette to all your shimmery shades. I do wish the quality was consistent throughout the whole palette. If only all the shadows performed as well as the “Perception” shade, I would have been a happy happy gal, but I do like this enough to recommend this.

In the EOTD:

Used “Perception” all over the lid with “Intellect” in the crease and “Thinker” in the outer V. Used “Brilliance” as brow bone highlight. Eyeliner is Lime Crime “Pumpkin” for the wing paired with a regular black eyeliner.
