I never cared for eyeshadows. They are pricey, applying them involves a lot of technique, you need a lot of tools, but more than anything else, I have hooded eyelids. But this GOSF, with all the insane discounts tampering with my brain cells, I decided to get a couple eyeshadow palettes, just so they could sit pretty on my table, but I ended up using this one and boy, was I hooked.

My Experience with Makeup Revolution Ultra Eyeshadows Eyes Like Angels Palette:

The case is a shiny black thing with the brand logo emblazoned in gold on the top. It has a huge mirror inside on the upper half and thirty eyeshadows assembled in four rows of thirty, two each. There is no applicator or brush provided, which is fine. Nobody uses the provided applicators anyway.

The palette comprises of a motley of colours, from neutrals to greens to purples and even a hot pink and orange. The finish ranges from frosty to satin to lustre to mattes. However, the mattes are only three in number – one hot pink, the other peach and a purple. The dominant finish is frosty. The colours are vibrant and more suited for a night look than a day one. The most abused shades in my palette are Black Stars, Silver Dream, Lilac Shimmer, and Peach Dream.  The untouched ones are the three shades of pink and orange, mainly because I wouldn’t be able to carry such bold eyes, but I’m getting there.

The pigmentation of all the shades is mind blowing. Primer or no primer, it shows up pretty crisp and working with most of the colours is very easy. I have never been an eye shadow person, thanks mostly to my hooded eyes, but I have been using this palette often this wedding season and I must say I am a convert.

The staying power of most of the shades is, again, amazing.  They have stayed on my lids for as long as five hours, without a primer.  However, there is a lot of fallout involved. And when I say lot, I mean a lot. So, eye makeup needs to done first, always, when using this palette or it will mess up the entire under eye and cheek area makeup.

Also, this particular brand eyeshadows contain parabens, so, if you’re a particularly ingredients consious, you’ll want to take a note of it.

I haven’t seen much of this brand around. Only two or three online portals sell it, so availability might be an issue. But I checked online and the brand website delivers to India.
