My Experience with Tarte Tartiest Creamy Matte Lip Paint Bae:

Packaging: Tarte Tartiest Creamy Matte Lip Paint comes packaged in a gold and red color cardboard box, and the actual lipstick comes in a clear tube with a black cap. The name of the product and brand are printed on the packaging in a golden font. The shade name is mentioned at the bottom of the tube. The doe foot applicator is very precise and facilitates application of the product.

Shade: “Bae” is one of the perfect red lipsticks in the Tarte Creamy Lip Paints collection. It is a medium dark red with a cool blue undertone. It is one perfect red color, which brightens the complexion instantly, and is suitable for all skin tones. It also has a gorgeous minty smell.

Formula: The formula of Tarte lip paints is quite interesting. It is not like that of other regular liquid lipsticks. The lipstick is more like a cream; it has a thick mousse consistency and feels as though we are applying a cream on the lips. It spreads easily and takes a little time to dry down. However, it doesn’t dry down completely, so it is not transfer proof. It provides a rich, opaque coverage that goes evenly and smoothly on the lips. The texture is lightweight, comfortable to wear, and doesn’t cling to the lips. It is not a true matte lipstick; it is more like a satin, powdery-matte finish. But it looks great on the lips, just like a true matte liquid lipstick. It does not appear streaky and goes on opaque in just one swipe. The formula and performance are not like Kat Von D or ColourPop liquid lipsticks. Tarte lip paints are nicer and better.

Staying Power: It stays for around 8 hours on my lips. It does survive meals and may start to fade a little after some time, but then it can be easily reapplied. It leaves a beautiful stain on the lips. Since it does not dry down to a complete dead matte finish, it feels very hydrating and comfortable on the lips. Also, it doesn’t cling onto dry patches. It feels very lightweight, and it’s almost like having nothing on my lips. This is my favorite part!

I think this shade is a close match to theBalm “Mia Moore”, MAC “Ruby Woo” and Nyx “Simply Red Lip Cream Russian Roulette”. So overall, I think that this is not your regular classic liquid lipstick. It is more like a lip mousse which hydrates the lips, feels lightweight and doesn’t dry down to a completely matte finish. It is like a beautiful break from the regular, drying liquid lipsticks.

Pros of Tarte Tartiest Creamy Matte Lip Paint Bae:

  • Perfect red color.
  • Creamy consistency.
  • Semi satin matte finish.
  • Good pigmentation.
  • Long-lasting.
  • Very lightweight.
  • Minty smell.
  • Comfortable.

Cons of Tarte Tartiest Creamy Matte Lip Paint Bae:

  • Not transferproof.
  • Not a true matte lipstick.
  • Doesn’t dry out completely.
