Hello friends!
Hope all of you are enjoying summers! We are yet to welcome them as we are still shivering in our pullovers and tall boots. I really miss sun tan on my skin along with summer pool activities and how can we forget those cool & yummy ice candies and smoothies! I literally want to buzz the winter off. 😛 Anyway, I am here to share my thoughts on my last year’s The Body Shop purchase which was one of my impulse buys. I like their Eye Definers since they are very creamy and mild on our skin. However, not all TBS products are a hit. Let’s read on further to see if this The Body Shop Burnished Amber Metallic Eye Definer is a hit or miss!

My Experience with The Body Shop Burnished Amber Metallic Eye Definer:
The Body Shop Eye Definer comes in wooden pencil packaging with no sharpener. Thankfully, it is slim & sleek and can fit in any Sephora/Nars pencil sharpeners. The shade Burnished Amber looks glistening copper brown to me and looks quite subtle and different than what we see on the website description, quite a bummer! I own many eye makeup products from this range and like them, hence I didn’t bother to even swatch this shade before ordering.
However, the shade seems perfect for our Indian traditional bridal wear, especially to match with our traditional gold accessories apart from western wear. I am yet to master eye makeup and usually rely on eye liners. Hence, I always feel like something is missing while wearing it alone. To my interest, it does pair well with eye shadows as a highlighter or simply as an illuminator for eye corners. Moreover, I did wear it a couple of times on my eyelids and found out that it blends seamlessly like any perfect eye shadow (that too with no feathering or transferring) to give burning gold look which goes perfect with my Indian attire and traditional gold jewellery (thanks to my SIL who motivated me to go ahead with eye makeup apart from hair styles)!
It stays put for good 6+ hours as an eyeshadow highlighter on my oily eyelids. But, the issue with it is that it looks way subtle when worn as an eyeliner, though it will last forever on our eyes. It is quite safe for waterline, but I avoid using it on the waterline.
Talking about the texture, it is really creamy and soft on our delicate eye area which glides effortlessly without tugging & pulling. Even it comes off easily with gentle massage with baby oil without leaving behind traces of glimmers or eye liner. It is quite impressive to notice that it hardly transfers onto my under eye area or brow bone even after 5+ hours of wear time that too on extremely oily skin.
I wish the shade had been little bolder to be used alone for perfect bold metallic look. I would still recommend it to gals who are looking for subtle shimmery copper brown liner to pair with their bronze metallic look, it will definitely compliment with gold/bronze/tanned makeover irrespective of the skin tone. Personally, I would not get it again as I am looking for more deeper and bold metallic amber.

Let’s sum up pros and cons:
Pros of The Body Shop Burnished Amber Metallic Eye Definer:
• A soft and creamy eye definer infused with the goodness of natural wax, Vitamin E and community fair trade Marula oil to nourish and condition skin.
• Burnished Brown is subtle yet glistening copper brown shade which will compliment every skin tone.
• No tugging/pulling at all.
• Buildable color payoff with one gentle stroke.
• It stays put for good 5+ hours even on my oily eye lids with primer.
• It does not cause any irritation or accentuate any other issues even while wearing it on water line for 5+ hours.
• It goes on smoothly over eyelids and becomes smudge proof, water proof stain which stays put for good hours without drying or looking flaky.
• It can also be used as highlighter, illuminator apart from an eyeliner.
• It is easily removable with baby oil & cotton.
• Quite travel friendly and user friendly packaging.
Cons of The Body Shop Burnished Amber Metallic Eye Definer:
• I personally prefer retractable packaging over wooden pencils.
• The shade is way mild and light on my skin tone.
IMBB Rating:
3.5/5
Conclusion:
Burnished Amber could have been a little more bold and deeper. We have much better quality eye definers at lower price in L’Oreal and Maybelline. Well, I do feel that even the quality is amazing and finish is decent with great wear time, but still it fails to create magic on my eyes and hence, I am not going to get this shade again. But, I will definitely get these metallic eye definers in some other shade!
